I know exactly who you mean. He played a Nazi is quite a few movies. The blonde hair & dead eyes made him perfect for those roles but I don’t think he was ever the star of anything so even if you told me I’d have no idea what his name was. Some of these are really tough.
I’m going to have 2 hail Mary cracks at 50. I was trying to think of Neds in movies & I thought of Groundhog day - The annoying old high school friend who says “watch out for that step” . Bill Murray says “Ned” then punches him in the face
The other one I thought of was The Unforgiven. “You better bury Ned right or I’ll come back & kill all you sons of ■■■■■■■”. I don’t remember them saying his last name but the actor was of course Morgan Freeman.
