Music You've Been Listening To

Bloody hell… this album is a ■■■■■■■ journey.

Got a funeral to attend today for a mate and so I’ve been listening to this song written by some other mates about the passing of another friend a few years ago. It’s a very 90’s punk vibe.

Good or bad?

blink are one of my top 3 all time bands so I’m probably more connected to them than most people… but it’s a journey in the sense that it feels like a bit of everything they’ve all done. My first instinct is to say it’s a pretty good blend of self titled, boxcar and AVA but there’s a heap of throwbacks in there that make you think Dude Ranch.

and then they finish by hitting you with this:

Ode to the dees

Awesome. Look forward to having a listen.

I love all Tom de Longe stuff. I’ve even got his guitar. His guitar playing has matured so much over the last few years away from blink

Monkey killing, monkey killing, monkey over
Pieces of the ground
Silly monkeys
Give them thumbs, they forge a blade
And where there’s one, they’re bound to divide it
Right in two
Right in two
Monkey killing, monkey killing monkey over
Pieces of the ground
Silly monkeys
Give them thumbs, they make a club
To beat their brother down
How they’ve survived so misguided is a mystery
Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability
To lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here

What do the fans think? I’d struggle to get through that.

Pearl Jam Vs 30th Anniversary in Dolby Atmos. Pure fire :fire:

This is just a banger. A great Riff that wouldn’t be out of place with Motörhead or Ministry (it sounds like their track ‘New World Order’ and you want lyrics for a song about a rebellious chick?

‘Poppin wheelies on her motorbike, straight hurls wish they were d.ykes’

‘Got so much cl.it she don’t need no balls’

This is a great cover.

I’m similar to you. But I do love the Beggars Banquet Album. Very bluesy. My favorite track is probably something that wouldn’t be allowed on the radio now.

Thank you for this.
Obviously, lyrically yikes, but musically…haven’t heard enough of that.
Can see the Cruel Sea would have been fans.

The Cruel Sea were the excellent support act at the Stones 1995 Melbourne concert where I got to see Keith Richards playing at centre half forward on the MCG!

Great shout. Underrated band. A lot of grunge era bands don’t do anything for me now, but L7 still gets a regular spin. Their sound is just so dirty and they didn’t lack for hooks.
