Fantastic song dedicated to a Fantastic place
And then some times it works the opposite way with a remixed song. Never heard the original but knew the song was remixed. Interesting when a song is covered by the opposite sex… changes the feel entirely.

No shocks in here - most feature in media Top Albums for 2024 but all great records in my collection
I’ve seen a lot of “media lists” for 2024’s Top Albums.
Most of them totally ignore any sort of rock/metal except for old faves like The Cure and Nick Cave…oh, and David Gilmour.
Hmm anyone own this? Maybe @wimmera1 or @BAAKKEERRRR
Francois Kevorkian is wild
I don’t, but I’m pretty sure @mrjez has it on a Power & The Passion 12" single.
Yazoo’s Situation 12" single, Depeche Mode’s Violator album, and The Oils’ Species Deceases EP. Did a couple of decent U2 mixes in the mid-80’s too. That alone would be quite the CV, let alone anything else he’s done…
He’s still mixing now and he’s 70.
Going through the 80s era though, it’s unreal.
Only know it because someone played it in DJK.
Just found out after all these years that he produced Life in a Northern Town.
Found out a long time ago that the song was a tribute to Nick Drake, but…not soon enough.
Yep, the US single. I have it on the Japanese 7” also, but it may be slightly different.
@Maxx it’s not even the best one imo, look up the one that goes for around 7 minutes, its only on the US promo 12”. Gets more dubby, thumping snare hits.
Two Hearts Beat As One is cool also
Tour de France
Tin Tin Duffy - Kiss Me remix is a fave of many. Ric Ocasek - Connect Up To Me
Yeah, I’ve got a German 12" single with Kervorkian mixes Of New Year’s Day and Two Hearts Beat… on it… both good as far as those 80’s extended mixes go…
There’s a lot I like.
Devil inside, listen like thieves
Why can’t I be you
Depeche mode ones
I just found a newish one with Khruangbin.
When I get a chance I saw some mick jagger ones
Because he signs off multiple ways it’s a bit of a hunt to find them all.
Today I also came across Lance Herbstrong/Wax Audio.
Cool remixes.
They should use that song in a BMW commercial.
Also feel that The Pixies should get a small royalty for these type of soft/loud songs.
