Music You've Been Listening To

The whole album is an under-appreciated new wave/symth-pop gem of twists and turns. Love this tune.

Odd band with an unfortunate name.
Didn’t they…just suddenly change genres half way through their career?

Not sure. I remembering trying a couple of tracks on their next album and thinking they’d lost something, but never dug any further. It’s a weird thing I tend to do actually, where I’ll love a band’s release and not bother to find out their discography.

Oh, I do that.
If you put out an album I don’t like, it takes me a long time to forgive.
Looking at you, Monster.

Haha, that’s actually the band I was thinking of.

The Cure too. Best band ever, don’t care to find out what they did between Wish and this latest album.

I don’t think there were any.

Man, I’m annoyed by how broken ā€˜random’ and the AI DJ on Spotify is.

It literally has thousands of tracks to draw from over the last decade on there, and without fail it says, ā€˜oh, you just want to listen to what was on heavy rotation two months ago.’
Which just…puts those tracks on a never-ending loop.

I don’t use it, but I had a mate put it on at my place once, and he told me how much he hated that it kept assuming he’d like Powderfinger. And sure enough a few songs later… :joy:

It’s like, dude.
You can assume I still like my #7 track from 2019.
Or even my #87 track from 2019.

But it just keeps force-feeding me the same twenty songs.

Stop whingeing and make up your own playlists :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I can recommend some fine songs for you.

At least you managed to forgive in time. Me? Never…

Actually, that’s what I do. I play my records and if a song hits me I stick it in a rotating playlist of 25 songs I have on my computer, which I keep updated to my phone for when I’m out and about.

It’s such a logical thing to do.

But then, people who love Roger Waters aren’t really that logical eh wim?

I heard a song of theirs from back in the day recently, for the first time in years. I was never much of a fan (liked Internationalist and that was about it…) It didn’t seem to me to have dated well at all, and his voice… was it always that whiny?

If you don’t rate KAOS above Momentary and every piece of dire, money-scrounging, desperate garbage they did after that, then I can’t help you.

Edit: and I’ll say again, Waters lifting the tyre screech directly from Run Like Hell for his first single was a freaking hilarious Fark you.

lol.
Spotify is listening to me whinge.

I love…goddamn…what was their Hot 100 number one? The first one?

But it has to be the Two Hands mix.
The rerelease loses something.

My Happiness? (Don’t know any songs really)
