Music You've Been Listening To

Also listened to the You Wanna Be There album.
He’s a trip, alright.

Anyway!

Man, I love this song. I’m just a big ol’ hippy at heart.

Also, flogging Honey Steel’s Gold album now it’s on Spotify. Flogging it.

Remember when he was going to write an album about each US state?
That lasted all of one (or was it two?) album before he realised he’d boxed himself into a corner and conceded…

Michigan and Illinois were the only two.

Currently listening to Purple Rain.

Damn, it’s a fine album and still holds up 40+ years later.

I’ve been listening to the Messenger album a bit, lately.

And through that came across this.

The guy had his debut single in 1956.
It’s really nice, what happened in the nineties.

His 2001 album ‘Resonate’ is on a par with ‘Messenger’. Highly recommended.

Wow they are amazing!!! You Maxxed it!

Henry Rollins or Mike Patton as lead singer and they are almighty!!!

They are possibly or listen to TISM & or Twenty one pilots :winking_face_with_tongue:

I’ve lately become a little fascinated with Spotify’s daily streaming top 200. Probably because I didn’t know it was a thing until very recently.
Things like Olivia Dean having 12 entries (including #1, #2, and #9) and other current things.
But also how some older artists are pretty consistent performers in it. It makes me wonder, why them?
For example, Fleetwood Mac has six entries. Dreams is the 8th of February’s 31st most streamed song in Australia. Silver Springs (which I’m confident I’ve never heard, although I did skip it when it came on yesterday, but that it came on at all makes me think it’s being pushed?) is #155.

#21 is rain noises to help you sleep.
Mr Brightside is #24, and I’m pretty sure it’s Australia’s most streamed song ever.

Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls is #29.
RHCP have five tracks.
CCR is at #84 with Have You Ever Seen the Rain. Why specifically and only that one?

Gorrilaz, Tears For Fears, Coldplay’s Yellow, Radiohead’s Creep, Prince’s Purple Rain, Billy Joel’s Piano Man…

It’s all so weird and wonderful.

I feel for you…hopefully, you’ll get better soon.

Nor did I…until I just read it in your post.

Thankfully (for me) I feel I will be able to resist any urge to listen to it.

PS: Who the hell is Olivia Dean?

Not having too much of a go, but I always find it such a weird self-own when people go, ‘Who?’.

Edit: And I was fascinated by the ARIA charts back in the day, so I guess this is just a natural extension.

Not having a go back…but I find it weird when people think that others must know who those people are referring to.

And again…who is Olivia Dean?

I mean…people say it about acts when they clearly know who they are, which I know you’re not doing.

But surely it’s obvious that she’s the most popular pop star in Australia right now?
I feel like any further information you might need is readily available.

Now I am having a go at you.

Why do think a 65 yo guy who you know has very little if any interest in the modern day charts would know who this person is.

I didn’t know, I now know that apparently she is Australian (didn’t know that) and I wouldn’t have thought it too hard a task for you to just tell me who she is etc.

Clearly I was wrong…it’s clearly too hard for you.

I’ll happily return to my ignorant state and know not to ask you for details in any future posts you may make.

You seem stressed.
