1200 maybe. The advances in speakers has been so rapid in recent years it’s hard to keep up

Ten years old but I’ve just started hearing it. Sounds like a cover but is not.

Bluesy and very nice.

Well it’s taken almost nine and a half months and 499 first time album listens (from 1955 to present day) but I think I’ve found my “new find of the year”

I’ve just been listening to “Palace For The People” the new release from Greta Van Fleet.

I cannot remember the last time that I’ve liked an album so much after just one listen.

Diet Led Zeppelin

That’s a lazy response.

The media made that claim when the band first broke and they have been stuck with the label ever since.

And just like most media labels, it’s crap.

Have you even listened to the album before passing judgement?

Haven’t given them much listening time since their debut. I’ll check it out :+1:

Its not lazy. Its my opinion of the band. Ive heard enough of them. I find them the epitome derivative. One level beyond cover band. Zero effort to hide their inspiration.

Agree to strongly disagree then.

I find it staggering that Gretta Van Fleet have produced the record you find the best after one listen since 1955.

Hang on…. i need to read what you wrote again. I must have read it wrong.

Yeah…you did read it wrong.

I’ve listened to 499 albums for the first time (so far this year).

The Greta Van Fleet album is the one that I have liked most (as I sit through a second listen) of those 499 albums.

Ok. I get ya now mate.

Fair enough.

I’ve just never heard anything from them that hasn’t made me squirm a lot. I hear a ‘McLed Zeppelin’, if that makes sense. But I’m no expert. We all like what we like.

No truer statement has ever been made.

The other one I’ve been listening to today…and over the last week or so is “Far and Wide” by The Pineapple Thief.

I’ve really gotten into “modern” prog rock over the last few years.

Funny thing is, I’ve never really loved most 60/70s prog…does this make me a bad person?

Nah…

I have a live Yes record here somewhere that’s always better than I remember.

this one. Im not really a Yes fan. But every time I put this on (which is rare) I’m surprised by it.
