It was stated in the rules the first 4 lines of a song
That first selection is from the very first single l ever bought, and l bought Good Vibrations at the same time, l was 15 at the time.
The third selection is my karaoke choice, when l am solo on the highway. It is a great song for really belting it out. It is also my favourite Who track, so that helps.
No one will care about your votes, but I love it

It’s not time to make a change
Just relax, take it easy
You’re still young, that’s your fault
There’s so much you have to know
You’re always dancing down the street
With your suede blue eyes
And every new boy that you meet
He doesn’t know the real surprise
Don’t you know what you’re doing
You’ve got a death wish
Suicide blonde
Suicide blonde

“On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas rising up through the air.”
you get 4 lines
On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim, I had to stop for the night
When I was young it seemed that life was so wonderful. A miracle oh it was beautiful, magical.
Just a small town girl
Living in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere.
Once upon a time you dressed so fine, threw the bums a dime in your prime, didnt you
Desmond has his barrow in the marketplace
Molly is the singer in a band
Desmond says to Molly, “Girl, I like your face”
And Molly says this as she takes him by the hand
The clock will tick away the hours one by one, then the time will come when all the waiting’s done.
Ah fk even just thinking of the scene with that song makes me sad.

Well, the drums rolled off in my forehead
And the guns went off in my chest
Remember carrying the baby just for you
Crying in the wilderness

If I ventured in the slipstream
Between the viaducts of your dream
Where immobile steel rims crack
And the ditch in the back roads stop
Could you find me?
Would you kiss-a my eyes?
To lay me down
In silence easy
To be born again
To be born again

Well, I just got into town about an hour ago
Took a look around, see which way the wind blow
Where the little girls in their Hollywood bungalows
Are you a lucky little lady in the city of light
Or just another lost angel, city of night
City of night, city of night, city of night, woo, come on
I just thought of:
It all began when they took me from my home and put me on death row
A crime of which I am totally innocent you know
I began to warm and chill to objects and their fields
A ragged cup a twisted mop, the face of Jesus in my soup
US Forces give the nod
It’s a setback for your country.
@swoodley: your voting system may work better if it is one song per post.
Stacy’s Mom has got it goin’ on
One particular lad from Liverpool had some crackers
3 - Let me take you down
'Cause I’m going to strawberry fields
Nothing is real
And nothing to get hung about
Strawberry fields forever
2 - Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream
It is not dying
It is not dying
Lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void
It is shining
It is shining
That you may see the meaning of within
It is being
It is being
1 - Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup
They slither wildly as they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind
Possessing and caressing me
Nice.
I know it’s not cool, but I can’t go past the Mentals. Just as an opening line. Not as a great song.
Don’t you get the feeling that you’ve done this kind of thing before.
Speaking of which…
Started out, just drinkin’ beer
I didn’t know how or why or what I was doin’ there
Just a couple more, made me feel a little better
Believe me when I tell you it was nothin’ to do with the letter
