Tackle, tackle, tackle, tackle. Then tackle some more.

Any player who doesn’t lay at least 5 tackles per game gets dropped. If that means chasing your opponent from one end of the field to the other, I don’t care. It’s not like it could have an impact on our “structures” or “game-plan”. Aggression and pressure start with being a good tackling team.

Did @beer-man say ‘empower’?

GET HIM!

Walla is our soul. If we trade him, we might as well shut the club down.

Take some more risks when we have the ball. We’re no good at “safe” offense, as teams just bear down knowing that we’re only looking at a very narrow scope of options, and we eventually panic and cough it up. Go for the burst through the pack, or the OTT handball, or the low kick to the middle, or go for a run and bounce.

If (when) we turn it over doing this, throw the kitchen sink at winning the ball back.

We’ll probably lose a fair whack of games doing this as we’ll burn out with 15min to go in the last, but jeez it’ll be a lot more fun than what we’re doing now.

  • actually play ruthless and don’t just talk about it
  • play the kids whenever possible
  • drop Stringer until he loses 5 kg

My strategic use of irony has not gone over well…

Get games into Clarke, Guelfi, Langford and Francis, if healthy.

Whatever “game plan” there is, simplify it. Emphasize quick ball movement and pressure, pressure, pressure.

Try to attack from half forward more instead of building from half back; we turn it over in the middle too much.

More than anything else, players injured or out of form shouldn’t be playing seniors, full stop.
