NBA 2024/25

Brunson in the 4th, no wonder he’s Mr Clutch.

Aside from the final shot…

Did you see the rest of the team.

So easy to pot him, because he’s not “the guy” anymore, but that team wasn’t constructed to compete in the playoffs against size. Everyone knew that when they got Luka ( they couldn’t say no to getting Luka), yet because they’re LA they get overhyped. They were a 3 seed, in a conference where the difference from 2-9 was nothing. They had AD for half a season and Luka for half a season, and both are capable of winning regular season games on their own, but in the playoffs when the rosters weaknesses are exposed.

Just potting LeBron overlooks the fundamental flaws that the team had. Lebrons not the number 1 next year. And for LA to contend he shouldn’t be #2, but to say he’s useless is ridiculous.

I’m not expecting much of a payout.
For us to use the MLE, he’ll have to come down to a $30mil contract. And that’s if the right players takes the MLE contract. Brook Lopez and Cappella are not a good fit. John Collins and Myles Turner is the right fit, but worth more than the MLE. Naz Reid would be a great get, but again, he’s worth more than the MLE. Steven Adams isn’t quite the right fit.
We also have Finney-Smith that must be signed and I’d suspect he’ll get a touch more than the $14mil he’s earning.

There are some ‘cheapish’ centres like Day’Ron Sharpe or Aldama, but I think their team’s can match whatever we offer. So they’d probably match and then wait until the season to trade them to the Lakers.

I think Lebron will take a modest $5mil cut to stay under the first apron and give us some flexibility to trade. That’s pretty much the main avenue to improve the team. There is value in expiring contracts, so I’d expect the majority of those players to be trading during the season. I can’t recall the last time minor expiring contracts are traded before the season began.

Lakers need to be rid of LeBron. Why continue to pacify a 40-year old who only cares about his stats, and plays zero defence in a team that already has one of the worst defensive players in the NBA? Luka and LeBron can’t work together. The playoffs showed that. Let him leave, use up all that salary on players to fit around Luka. Let LeBron try and stack teams and hijack another franchise.

All had extended breaks waiting for their opponents to be decided. I think there’s something in that.
