It’s a bit convoluted but reports are that the Hornets will get three second round picks (two from Knicks, one from Minnesota) , plus 7 million in cash, plus DaQuan Jeffries, Charlie Brown Jr and Duane Washington Jr. All for facilitating the KAT / Randle trade between Wolves and Knicks. It sounds like the cash will be used to waive/pay out the three players , presumably none will ever play for Charlotte. We have also relinquished our signing rights to James Nnaji, who is currently playing in Spain.
“The Hornets are using their room exception to make those acquisitions, making them the first team to take advantage of new rules allowing teams to trade for players using the non-taxpayer mid-level, room, or bi-annual exception.”
I don’t understand any of the mechanics of it all, but I love that Jeff Peterson is aggressively on the front foot collecting draft assets wherever he can, effectively for no real cost whilst we are so far under the cap workings. It feels like a very proactive organisation under his watch.
It leaves the Knicks with a very tight roster though, down to 12 plus a couple of potential upgrades, with no real financial room to do anything further.

He’s probably the least deserving player to ever be on an NBA roster. Guaranteed 4 year contract! 
It’s only preseason , but lots of positivity about Hornets practice match against Knicks. Lee seemed very pleased with the defensive efforts in the main, the players followed what he’s been preaching. Salaun is raw but definitely looks high ceiling and despite a few injuries there’s still some good talent in the 2nd unit. Though it must be said, for much of the final quarter we were running probably a 3rd unit - including the three who just stepped off the plane following the KAT/Randle trade -and some of those look destined for an axing.

Very very impressed with the Suns two praccy games so far. Suns fans will understand why I’m impressed. We always look awful in preseason so it’s nice to see effort and improvement.
Obvious changes under Bud so far:
- Defense focussed
- Pick and roll
- Getting up a heap of threes
- Rookies getting court time
Oso Ighodaro and Ryan Dunn are going to excite Suns fans this year.
