So after coming terrifyingly close to a win over the Cavs, Charlotte sent out a half arsed NBA / G League lineup and managed to beat the Nets …

Celtics with a massive flex on the Lakers. The 3rd period set the win up, the way Boston exploited the lack of defence from Bron and Luka showed what will happen in the playoffs. Both put up numbers but lacked impact with negative +/- games. Bron 0/6 from 3, 0/3 FTs.

As expected, we’re nowhere in your league yet.
Offensively we were poor and your defence pushed us into tough situations.
And that was without Porzingis.
We tried to exploit Horford too much on our offensive side as well.
The bench scoring is a clear problem. Even in our better games, we get to the 30s somewhere. But today it was 17. That’s just nowhere good enough. Especially with Lebron and Luka being inefficient (turnovers, free throw misses, 3 point shooting).

Our defence is heavily trap based and surprise double teams to allow 3 point shots to certain players. But when you get to a well rounded team (like Boston, Cleveland & OKC), they are just going to be picked apart by just swinging the ball around to open shooters.

I don’t think we meet again this year. And rightly so.
We won’t get past OKC and I still doubt we get past Denver in a 5 game series. After adjustments through the series, I just don’t think we can do enough to get past them.
I even think Houston could run us off our feet.
We’re a decent chance against anyone who plays at our pace.
But our lack of interior defence is tough to scheme over in a 7 game series. It is what it is. This season is a free hit and the off season is where we have to improve the roster and plug the gaps.

Lakers missed Hayes and Hachimura BIG time today. Lack of size was so evident.

Surprisingly that was still better than what the Celtics bench put up today. Only 3 players used and a contribution of only 9 points. Mazzula’s use of Craig off the bench has been a bit baffling. When he has come off the bench he has contributed well both offensively and defensively.

Yep. Noticed that. Most of your bench was down on averages. Pritchard actually averages as much as our bench scored today.
We have decent individuals off the bench and one or two might go off from night to night. But they aren’t dependable.
Most of the year when I’ve noticed our bench scoring, I’ve checked your last game as a benchmark and this game is the first time we outscored your bench.
Today was more of an anomaly. In a 7 game series, I doubt we outscore your bench.

Didn’t sound great.
