NBA 2024/25

Both can be true.

Some incredible moves, but the foul baiting is garbage. He’s at the “If i just flail the legs and throw it at the backboard, ill get the call” stage.

Sixers making ridiculously hard work of tanking. How good is Grimes?

25 point lead blown.

But gee they look better without Embiid.

They could cash in on him and George this off season.

Got to be the worst duo ever put together by an NBA team.

Who would pay?

Nuggets minus Joker and Murray beat the Warriors in San Francisco with Steph and Butler. It’s amazing how often teams that are shorthanded get the win, they end up being unpredictable…

A non contender would take on PGs contract if they want to build around kids then utilise FA in a couple of years.

I’m sure there’s a team that would want Embiid. Maybe the dollars would turn them off.

His foul baiting is getting to embiid levels

For a guy (Embiid) who boasts career averages of 27 and 11 and has won an MVP his career has been underwhelming.

The only NBA regular season MVP to never make it to a conference finals.

I was at the game tonight. Gordon, Porter Jr and Westbrook were a step above. Curry is injured, draymond looked old and I thought Kerr underused butler. Good game though. Way more physical than the tv experience.

I have been supporting Miami for 15 years now and this would have to be the most disappointing stretch I have seen.

Just have nothing going for them at this stage.

The whole Jimmy saga has taken its toll on the franchise. I thought they’d be better in terms of morale with him gone, but they seem rudderless. I don’t think Bam or Herro are the types that can carry a franchise.

We got new owners! $6.1B, the largest sale of a North American sports team, surpassing the $6.05B sale of the Washington Commanders in 2023.

Knicks might actually be getting worse, absolutely putrid to watch at the minute

I thought the Knicks were a second round playoff team at best. I now think they’ll get bundled out in the first round.

I don’t mind whats happening at the moment, they were way to Brunson-centric all year. This is a trying out period to see what else they have, If they lose a few more here and there trialling stuff then so be it.

Six weeks after the Fat Luka trade and even though LeGM has been injured in that period as well as some other players in our rotations, I think that’s some decent time to see where we are at.

We shouldn’t drop to a play-in spot. We’ve done well enough to stay above that area. We’ve had the letdown losses (against Utah and Brooklyn) as well as some good wins (Denver, Minnesota, Clippers & Knicks).
Best case scenario, we reach the Western Conference Finals, worst case we get kicked out in the first round depending on matchups. From the East, Boston and Cleveland are the two teams that’ll beat us. Too deep and have had time to get used to playing as a team.
In the West, I think OKC are way ahead of us and we’d be lucky to snag a win in a 7 game series. Denver and Golden State are a 50/50 chance for us. Again, they have a small edge in that they have had more time to get used to each other. I’d add Houston in there solely because I think they can run us off our feet from time to time, but I think eventually, we’d overwhelm them once we slow the game down a bit.
The rest of the teams, I’d be comfortable meeting in the playoffs.

I’m surprised with how Reeves, Luka and Lebron have worked so far, but I still think we’ll struggle from time to time and it’s still unsure who has the ball late in a close game. I think Luka will have it, but he’s shown some ‘passive moments’ where he’s still not sure he should take over the game in those moments. He’s getting more and more comfortable though. By next year, he’ll be perfectly ripe.
The defence is looking solid. It’s not good enough for a conference finals push, but it’s much better than where it was earlier this season. And with a far weaker defensive group of players. So we’ve found a way to shield our weaknesses somewhat. I expect those weaknesses to be highlighted heavily though in a 7 game series.

I love watching Luka play. He makes the game fun to watch. I understand opposition fans hate it though for various reasons. You just know he can turn the game at any moment.
We’ll have a good understanding of what works and what doesn’t through the playoffs, try and sort the team out during the pre-season and next season will be our big shot where we build towards a proper run.

This year is still a free hit.

Try making sense of the Hornets last month. Some absolute beltings by Portland, Kings, Clippers, yet another loss to the rubbish Wizards but then a shootout fest win over Spurs and victories against Heat, Nets, Knicks and a point away from beating the Cavs. There’s no real rhyme or reason to any of it.
