Pros:

  • No more looking at code
  • Uses keyboard shortcuts (Cmd+B for bold, etc)
Cons:
  • Quotes no longer include a link to the original post
  • Needs icons
  • Quotes seem to take a long time to appear in the post box

FWIW, the old (restored) editor has (some) keyboard shortcuts.

e.g. Control-B for bold. I didn’t spot it for a while as on a Mac I expected it to be Command-B, as the previous editor was.

Dunno. Was only just reading about this major update this morning but it should be in BETA soon so we’ll see.

Can't quote and also I can't start a message until I click on one of the text option buttons.


Have tested this on IE on the PC and safari and crome on the iPhone. All have the same issue.

Hmm that’s the same on mobile too… think I’ll revert back to what we were using before. There’s supposedly a new, better editor on the way anyway.

And can't leave spaces between lines no matter how many times I push enter.
Using Chrome.

OK I can leave lines If I edit my post afterwards. But only if I click or arrow key further down the post. Still can't click enter.

Do like the dumbarse button though. Helps me out immensely :P








Can't quote? Or just didn't wait long enough? It does take a few seconds...
This one took about 20 seconds.
I was clicking quote every 3 or 4 seconds and it just kept moving the page up each time and then it filled my post box with 10 quotes.
