New version of EFC theme - not to be used

It’s the same song, audio just a bit sharper. No problem.

Hopefully they improve the Carlton song the only way possible. By deleting it.

Interesting.

As an American myself I suspect the relative obscurity of EFC’s song’s melody compared to most of the other ones might have something to do with it.

Almost all of the club songs, at least the VFL foundation clubs, are already well known in this country in other forms.

Heard an interview with one of the Fable singers this afternoon. They got $100 for a days work on 12 songs and no royalties. So same-same.

I was all ready to hate it because the AFL said to do it, but really it’s essentially the same

Wait, one of them is still alive?

I just assumed those guys were old then and probably long dead.

It’s so close to the usual thing that there is legit zero point to any of this.

They sound like the digitised versions of team songs you hear on afl playstation games

Yes. And it’s better that way, I don’t want the GWS one to be turfed out of the club after only a few years.

As long as they don’t go near this one!

So are “the fable singers” just studio musos from fable records?

The AFL didn’t have much choice but to change after the lead singer of the Fable Singers came out and said he was bigger than Jesus

Wheres the dislike button?

Slightly crappier version than the previous one. Lets face it, its not that great a song

Well according to the news, the AFL has told the clubs they can either use the “new” or “old” one

So there goes the theory about royalties etc

Fat Ed has said the Pies will continue to use the “old” one

What about you Mr Tanner?

I’d prefer something like…

Bombers
way to go
Hit em real hard
Hit em down below

What do you reckon?

If we had any balls as a club we would be telling them to fark off too.

But, you know…

The AFL site says the new versions will be played at grounds. Not sure there’s any choice on that

I tell you what, I actually like the GWS theme.

At half time in his polo game
When he looks for someone to blame

Smacks Fitzgibbon and his banjo would be rolling in their grave

The song might be to me what the sash is to Benzina. Hoping we never use that garbage.
