I’ve only seen him play once and didn’t know who he was at the time so didn’t focus specifically on him, but i did notice he has speed and is a good kick like his dad was, moves similarly where the game seems to speed up when he has the ball, but he’s not quite as stocky.

It’s pretty ridiculous the child of a former AFL player is eligible to be part of an NGA. Same goes with Andrew Walker’s son.
Isn’t the whole point of the NGAs to attract athletes who wouldn’t normally play Australian football?

the point of NGA is to get people from non-traditional backgrounds into it, so saying if someones a child of these types of migrants but not those is opening up a can of discriminatory worms
I don’t think their style of play should be a factor either way, personally.

Interesting story here about how we just missed out, however another reason the NGA’s needs to have a bit tighter criteria around it.

Bewick’s local team played Tevita Rodan’s today. They both lined up at practically every centre bounce.
Bewick is more advanced, is polished and precise. Rodan is explosive though, once he’s off he’s hard to catch.
Bewick kicked one insane goal from the boundary. Played 95pc midfield.

Essendon NGA Adam Sweid yesterday had 23 disposals, 7 marks, 4 tackles and a goal for Calder(who won). Continuing his good form.
El-Achkar did not play due to minor ankle injury.
