Next Generation Academies

Plays tall, bit behind in the other kids his age, strong leader, kids love him. Played in Strathmore (2) premiership and captain I believe.

Started the year in the first side on the weekend and was Strathmore’s bog in a thrilling draw with Keilor. I believe KEilor BOG Zene Gertner is tied to us but obviously neither on Calder’s radar as not listed or played

Cause there isnt enough academy games at this time of the year, according to this article, a Metro side will play against a country side, made up almost entirely of NGA kids.

Essendon will have the following kids involved,

You’re a marvel when it comes to all things Father Son and NGA!

Much appreciation!

Is that really the best name they could come up with?

May be an image of soccer, football and text

Pictured are our Cannons boys (L-R);

Ahmed El Barbour (Strathmore), Gabriel Tangata (Cannons/Marby Park), Ronan Yow Yeh (Cannons/Macedon), Jordan Toogood (Greenvale), Mohamed Matar (Pascoe Vale), Lachlan Barley (Cannons/Essendon Doutta Stars)

Apparently Matar was impressive taking a number of intercept marks before the game was called off art half time due to dangerous conditions (assuming lightening)

Round 2 of the Cannons Under 16s is on tomorrow, Calder taking on Oakliehg at Highate from 10:00am

couple of changes but I might go through them later (if can be bothered) May try and get out to this one but I am in the SE Suburbs so a bit of a trek. Will see

assuming it was this footage, apparently he is LIGHTENING

Got down and had a look at the U16 cannons boys, Oakleigh are fielding a lot of school boys who have been in programs for two more yeqrs and it showed. They were bigger and faster mostly across the board.

Of the Cannons boys who impressed me I think we may be club tied too;

Brock Fletcher was named Calder’s MVP for their two games. Key fwd who never stopped competing. Is the nephew if former Bomber, Dustin

Maikeli Rodan - predominantly small forward, not as advanced as Tevita but does not shirk the contest. Barely noticed him despite the name

Ali Kassab - Baseline had some footage of him from his game earlier in the week, yes he is lightening quick but sheesh, the ball drop of Dylan Clarke looks like Bailey dale compared to Ali. Still, put a shift in today and worked hard mainly through the midfield with some time spent at half back to create drive.

Lachlan Fleming has a bit of the Freo Dockers old Michael Johnson about him. Not as competitive but enjoyed his game playing behind the ball

Oliver Rados - this kid I am dearly, dearly hoping is club tied. Big ruck who is physical, has some smarts and his skills for a ruck are pretty decent. Was close to Calder’s BOG in the first half but faded after the main break.

Not sure many of these kids will eventuate to much, maybe Rados, liked the look of Xavier Walsh but dont think he is academy tied to us, Alli Kaddab has a worse ball drop than Dylan Clarke, anyways, off to the 18s tomorrow and the NGA series kicks off on Monday

Cheers for the info Yoda, doing great work as always.

Is there any reason why Brock Fletcher would be club tied?

Seems appropriate. “Matar” is the Arabic word for rain.

In other news, Calder got smoked by 80 today. Bewick kicked one of their few goals.

nuh, not club tied, is the nephew of Dustin. That is all

M Rodan is pretty special. I’ve seen him dominate in the midfield. Super evasive and great sideways movement.

he must be an under ager (aka 15 playing 16s?) as he spent almost no time in the middle

Yeah my guess is he is 15.
Has played some really good footy for Aberfeldie as a bottom ager, with Tevita

One year sample too small + will likely encourage a huge amount of tanking, not what an already imbalanced league needs

Essendon NGA Ahmad Abdallah, 2026 Diversity gqme highlights

168cm small forward, the man affectionately known as “Uppy” debuted for the Cannons yesterday. Here is some terrific work in last weeks diversity game which was called off at half time due to conditions

Essendon NGA Abdallah? I thought we had confirmed in here a few times he isn’t Essendon NGA? Will be good if he is, the more eligible players the better, particularly small forwards.

im running with it until the club pulls there largely self absorbed digit and refutes it with an official list

Sorry gang !
