49ers really needed to improve WR and CB positions. Midway through last season I said Aiyuk is not a quality WR and this was backed up by the fact no other franchise picked him up when he was in dispute with SF and shopping himself around. The stat they showed on MNF said he is now the NFLâs 6th highest paid WR. Yikes. Has Dodoro gone to SF to advise them about list management?
Lenoir is the Dâs weak spot and KC exploited him in the SB.
as much as I love to beat ourselves up over it, the fact of the matter is that Trey Lanceâs draft had nothing to do with two of the three Super Bowls. Or with Kyle Williamsâ NFC Championship muffed punts. Or with Richard Shermanâs NFC Championship finger tip. Or with Jaquiski Tarttâs NFC Championship dropped interception. Or with Brock Purdy blowing his elbow out in an NFC Championship.
Itâs an easy target that I myself indulge in. But over the long run it had little to do with our lack of success in winning the big one over the last 12 years.

Aiyuk had higher salary trade offers from the Pats, Steelers, and Browns. All of these were accepted by the Niners and rejected by Aiyuk.
