NFL 2024/25

Carroll wants to get the band back together. Wonder what Golden Tate is up to these days.

Given I had theoretically decided to follow the Seahawks, I quickly decided that a team with Geno at QB wasn’t very interesting, and the theoretical never translated to reality because of that. From Seattle’s perspective I reckon they were going g nowhere anyway. Arnold would be good, because apparently no one wants him, so should be relatively cheap for a guy that won a lot of games last year.

Geez all happening in the last few hours:

  • Myles Garrett ended up staying in Cleveland and signing a new deal worth $40M per year.
  • Davante Adams to The Rams on a $46M deal over 2 years
  • Josh Allen signed new 6 year deal worth $330M, $250M guaranteed
  • DK Metcalf traded to the Steelers for a 2nd round pick. Steelers just paid him a $150M deal over 5 years.

Waiting for Rodgers to sign with Minnesota and move ever closer to completing the million-dollar Brett Favre Career Path parlay.

Happy to get Fields in as a Jets fan. Wanted him instead of Wilson in the draft, went a long painful way tonget him. But we got there

Khalil Mack has re-signed with the Chargers. Very happy with that. We lost WR Josh Palmer to the Bills which is not a huge loss but it does leave a lot of empty seats in the WR room. Would have been nice to get DK Metcalf or Davante Adams in there to work with the work experience kid (Ladd McConkey).

Jimmy G has re-signed for another year with the Rams. I didn’t even know he was there last season. I’m still not sold Darnold is a top-line QB as he has had many poor seasons before this and was pretty ordinary in the last few games this year. We’ve seen too many flash-in-the-pan QBs that get a good contract and then produce back-up performances.

Chargers sign Steelers RB Najee Harris

The Los Angeles Chargers reached an agreement with former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris on a one-year deal worth up to $9.25 million, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday.

Harris, a first-round pick in 2021, topped 1,000 yards in each of his four seasons with the Steelers. A durable player, he started all 68 regular-season games during his tenure with the team. Harris, 27, was selected to the Pro Bowl after his rookie season when he racked up 1,200 rushing yards and added 467 receiving yards on 74 receptions. He also accounted for 10 touchdowns that season.

Despite rushing for more than 1,000 yards each season, Harris averaged just 3.9 yards per carry in his Steelers career.

Nice. We released Gus Edwards, but hopefully we can re-sign JK Dobbins to team up with Harris. I also love using Scott Matlock as a big, lumbering fullback for run plays.

I don’t particularly rate Najee, but he is an excellent fit for that offence.

He’s not explosive, but he durable and almost never fumbles the ball away. And he’s a good receiving target.

Aaron Rodgers the… Steeler?

Thank god he’s going there. Didn’t want him at the Vikings. I want to see how JJ goes this year.

Gawd I hope not.

Good pivot from Von Miller. I think it’s a good deal.

His ability is in no doubt, it’s just a question of whether his body can hold up.
