The Number 30 jumper belongs to Essendon, not to an invdividual.

Geoff Leek, Kevin Walsh both played over 150 games in it.

Both won premiership medals in it.

George Shorten, one of the Mosquito fleet also won two premierships in it.

 

Give it to someone who wants and deserves the privilege of wearing an Essendon jumper.

Preferably someone good enough that will replace his predecessor in the eyes of all the kids who got jumpers with #30 on the back.

Good numbers,  Would swap Paddy Ambrose to 29 and put the COOOON in number 30. For some reason would enjoy seeing the Coooon get the ball and explode away from the pack on the half forward flank and bang through a goal wearing 30.

I heard Ryder left Essendon because he always wanted to wear 31 after Fletcher retired.
