Other UK Football - 'Don't want to be in the EPL anyway..'

Villa v Sheffield looked to have been a cracking game! Utd would be spewing over that result…

Birmingham derby tonight. 11pm.

Boro have fkg bottled their run as per usual.

One of the worst things I’ve seen on a football field in the Birmingham derby. A fan runs into the ground to whack Jack Grealish in the back of the head.

Extraordinary!

Literally, anything could have happened in that situation.

The karma was that Grealish scored the winning goal.

Credit to the Birmingham players after the incident- they could have inflamed the situation even more.

There’s also footage of one of the stewards kneeing him as he runs to the bench to celebrate, the bloke then gets dragged off by cops. Gooood times

Looks like Norwich will be promoted. Most likely Leeds as well. The promotion play-off for the third team will be interesting. Would be good to see Villa make it back up to the PL. @Socks_and_Sandals

As a Leeds fan I know what will happen if we finish 3rd

I reckon Norwich are going up. Bielsa’s Leeds seem a bit too temperamental but who knows, Sheff U might just get the job done for the other automatic. Their manager has gained quite a few promotions at lower levels. Dean Smith at Villa doesn’t have the same pedigree despite being progressive but a few players smarting over another Wembley loss last year. It’s a tight playoff group. WBA are thereabouts sacking Darren Moore, Pulis’ Boro’s form are on the nose, Derby will take a spot.

Villa are reliant on Grealish staying fit, if he goes down injured Villa are null and void but McGinn is EPL quality and Tyrone Mings on loan from Bournemouth has been a colossus.

@Goodthur, how are you seeing the final month playing out? It’s been quite a ride over the past two months, and what I thought was impossible even two, three weeks ago, now seems entirely possible.

Just wish all of our remaining games were away from Kingsmeadow! Haha

Five of their final six games are against mediocre sides so it’s in their hands. Fortunately the two most difficult games, Luton and Oxford, are away games. Luton will already have been promoted when AFC Wimbledon play them so maybe they can sneak a surprise point there. The final game against bottom team Bradford, which shapes as critical, is away too. I reckon they will need 12 points from the six games. It’s doable but there is no room for any slip-ups.

Twists and turns

Sigh. Ipswich relegated.

Just two points from the last two games for AFC Wimbledon when they really needed four, but they are still in with a chance of avoiding relegation. A win against Bristol Rovers on Friday is non-negotiable. It’s a pity for these away specialists is that it’s a home game.

Well Leeds have absolutely bottled it.

Playing at home against a very average Wigan club just points away from relegation, Leeds went down 1 -2 against a 10 man side. 10 man side from the 14th minute!

To rub salt into the wound, Sheff United won their match, jumping ahead of Leeds into 2nd with only 3 matches left.

Leeds are the Essington of the past decade. They haven’t the mental strength to win playoffs. It’ll be another year in the EPL it seems.

An unbelievable point just earned at Luton inside the last minute! We were lucky to get away that for sure, could easily have been over at half-time. Am hoping this might reinvigorate the spark leading into this weekend after the momentum sapping Stanley and Rovers’ games.

Results elsewhere have worked against us over Easter, but there’s still a pulse.

Typical Wimbledon - do well against the top sides and flop against the weak ones. The point was invaluable as it puts the Dons at the top of the relegation zone so we don’t have to get past Scunthorpe as well as one of the sides currently just outside the zone. Surprisingly, there is still at least a 50:50 chance of avoiding the drop but wins in both the final games are essential.

We’ve bottled it haven’t we? Norwich choking big time 4 pts last 4 games and we couldn’t take advantage. Weak as ■■■■ really
