It’s the acid as much as the sugar (assuming your dental hygiene is reasonable)
Soft drink & mineral water are pretty acidic, so is most booze.
I swear every work van or truck I’ve ever ever driven has stunk of V/red bull/monster.
Smells foul to me.

Regarding Red Bull and its highly caffeinated ilk, caffeine has no effect on me and I just don’t like the taste.
So betel nut with lime would be good for your teeth!
Agree acid will soften the enamel and allow damage from among other thing over-zealous brushing, but sugar will cause the decay. Sift toothbrush is better according to my dentist.
Incidentally, if you get a scale build up in the dunny that won’t brush off, better than using any cleaner is to pour in a litre of cheap white ($2.30 for 2 L) vinegar, and leave it overnight. The calcium/scale scrubs off easily after that.
Overrated: Sprite and similar lemonades
Underrated: Mountain Dew
Just bought some Billson’s sars and also cherry flavoured cordials. Will mix with the SodaStream output and report back.
The IGA in Warrnambool has about 30 Billson’s flavours, many of which I’ve never heard of, like Lamington.

Avoid the pine lime one. Mrs B had a bottle of it recently for Sodastream purposes. Nasty chemically aftertaste. Flavour balance was all wrong.
Mandarin flavoured jarrito is good, you can buy a mixed box at Costco but it does come with so.e wierd ones, tamarind being easily the most out there. Inca cola tastes like cream soda to me. Similarly in colombia there’s colombiana but they also have postobon uva, a grape flavoured thing and pony malta, which tastes like an uber sweet alcohol free stout.
Overrated - Fanta
Underrated - Lemon & Paeroal

The term soft drink was originated to distinguish the flavoured drinks from hard liquor, or distilled spirits .
Technically water is a soft drink.

I buy Billson sarsaparilla ( natural , not artificial flavour) and the blood orange one to mix with soda water or sparkling mineral water.
For ginger drink , Buderim Ginger Refresher is the best. Hot sweet ginger tea or as a soda , a drop of ice cream makes for a top spider .

Mixers with soda water is the way I roll now. I can’t do full sugar and in most cases I can’t do fake sugar. I like to get the blood orange Agrums but my kids won’t stop drinking it straight from the bottle, so I don’t get it as much as I’d like.
