Aspirations!
No good at the down loading bizzo but local news and the ABC have a story about a bird called Tweetie.
My daughter works at a native wildlife and rescue park , Bonorong, and has practically hand raised dear Tweetie and is a bit miffed that the tv crew went there on her day off and her boss , Greg, got his face on the telly. Tweetie is supposed to be a black cockatoo but turned out yellow and was abandoned by her/ his parents and flock and left to die. Ended up at Bonorong where now will spend the rest of his/her days because the colouring makes it a target.
Any blitzers visiting Tasmania try and call into Bonorong. It might not be on the scale of the mainland parks but this is a non profit native rescue centre started by Greg with his own money. Maybe he deserves his face on the telly.
Same time of the year, same tree, same nest, same wind tunnel weather. Doesn’t worry Dad, he hasn’t budged from his post for around a fortnight. My Better Half and I both bolted for the kitchen window aspect this morning half expecting the flimsy nest to have been blown to pieces. Should never have doubted him. Wish the big blow would abate though, the stress levels are unbearable.
PS Must be 7 or 8 years now.
The start of the hunting season in France.
Hunters and their dogs track and chase a deer through forests for 10 hours
The deer makes it over a main road to the police station of a village.
Under the law, the hunters are not allowed to pursue the chase through a town or village. Chase ends.
The cops usher it to another forest.
First sighting. Obscured shot but if you can zoom in there’s one definite and looks like a second in behind. Only allowed out for a brief moment and then straight back under when the Noisy Miners turned up uninvited.
This kinda fits in here
So what do you do with a snake like that.
Find it a good home ?
A couple of nice snake-skin shoes?
It needs to be handed over to DES who will manage it.
If no-one comes forward with proof of ownership it will probably be destroyed unfortunately.
Where are they native ? Can’t it be released in that area ?
