Wright holds minimal trade value.
Like most of our list, is on an inflated contract.
If anything we would have to pay a % of it.

Keep on hearing 2MP to Collingwood.
He is contracted so I would expect a 2nd round pick. We have been interested in Joe Richards as well so he may play a part in a trade.
Saying he had 1 good year is a bit of hyperbole. But heās not wrong to suggest Wrightās 5 year contract was unjustified and diabolically bad.
I donāt think that will happen. We are super conservative.
Fair. Iād happily give Collingwood a 2nd round pick to take Wrightās contract off our hands.
Wright and Hobbs
Both contracted wonder what Pies will offer?
Would love Melbourne to look at Wright. He would suit them and they are going to have a great draft hand by the end of trade week.
Trading out Wright is an admission of failure, and Iād deeply dislike it.
We need to be the sort of club that gets the most out of its talented players. Wright can perform, weāve seen it. You donāt kick 60-odd goals in a season, in a middling team, if you havenāt got ability.
Having some sort of fire sale to get Wrightās contract off the books is basically just giving up, saying that your coaching staff and your welfare staff and your fitness staff and your sports psychologists and your welfare people arenāt up to the job and that thereās no point trying. Getting rid of the symptom of the problem, in Wright, just means you bring some other player into a program that youāve just admitted is no good. What the hell is the point?
weāve been so concerned with optics its contributed to us being in this position
Not really. We got him for nothing and weād like get more than we paid for. Iād say thats a pretty good outcome.
Nah. The point of trading is to win games, not to measure draft picks across several different preseasons several years apart and see who comes out theoretically in a better position. Leave that stuff for the supercoach players.
Wright CAN be a game-winning player, weāve all seen it. If weāve got a ā ā ā ā environment that talented players canāt perform in, the solution is to fix the environment, not trade blokes out for draft picks or whatever other sugar hit that might let us sell more memberships in December.
If Wright is retained then he, Langford, Caddy, possibly Stringer and Jones, and Draper spending time forward, means inevitably to a very unbalanced forwardline.
Canāt play them all, also probably means no place for Perkins also.
Need to trade a couple with a view of addressing a myriad of other weaknesses.
2MP and Stringer to be traded for future 2 x 2025 2nd round picks would be ideal.
Trade those picks back in for 2 x 2nd round picks or a late round 1 pick after Kako is selected.
I prefer the 2 x 2nd round picks. Go for a winger and half back flank that can kick and are hard at it.
I am inclined to go with HM on this. Give this coach and his team a bit of time.
We do have a lot of disappointed Bomber fans right now, they want to barge in, shoot first and ask questions later, aka burn the whole place down.
Well thats what Richmond are doing and rightly so, because Dimma is not Chris Scott. They picked 2 good mids to replace Cochin and beyond that thought they just needed to tweak the list, but fell to the bottom on the back of a triple premiership list that lost its hunger.
We are only on average 1 goal a game off parity, and 2 goals a game off a top 4 spot, and thats with a 2nd half fade out. Typically 50 inside 50s a game! Thats numerically fantastic, but needs polish, finess and some players like Kako and maybe one of the Davey twins will improve after 6 months in the weights room.
We all know that our main problem was connection with forwards going inside 50. We need to work on that and maybe its an issue with the mid coach and the forward line coach.
Maybe that is not the players, maybe its line coaching issues.
Go and put your membership cards in the microwave if you like, but Scott and Rosa now have 2 months to work on updating our list. I donāt think they will burn the hangar down.
Really ⦠the guy literally ducks while trying to take a overhead mark by not watching the ball into his hands. Like Weiderman, both are allergic to body contact, both donāt pressure. Just not footballers are they & just in it for the $$
Fark em off, they arenāt taking us anywhere in the future. If another team wants them (why would you ) try & get something for them, else eject ASAP
How quickly you Muppets forget. Wright had a very good 2021 and a great 2022, then last year did his shoulder and struggled getting both his arms over his head, but still averaged nearly two goals a game. Then this year he gets severely screwed over at the tribunal, lost all confidence and eventually got cannoned into VFL.
He should play deep forward and Draper should just either play ruck or sit on the pine rotating with Nick Bryan. Just needs a bit of confidence and a mid field who can kick to a leading player.
He can average two goals a game and still be a liability in a modern forward setup.
No other team is running with a big, polite, wooden Brontosaurus with trampoline hands in their forward line.
Happy for us to trade either String or 2MP. I know they are different positions but would rather we keep one of them.
Injuries happen so if we lose both to trade and Langford does a hammy, our fwd line will be very inexperienced.
Someone losing confidence from being suspended, has to go down as the most laughable excuses for them being ordinary at football.
Hilarious people genuinely believe some of the crap they put out there.
If we burnt the place down 10 years ago like I wanted, then weād almost certainly be winning finals by now. Weāll probably be discussing how we need to burn the place down in another 10 years when we still havenāt won a final.
