yes, it’s cropped and pixelated. But at 656 million kilometres away, and shot through Melbourne’s light pollution and hazy skies, I’m shocked that i got any glimpse of Jupiter and a few moons with a camera and 400mm lens.

Wow. I‘ve finally managed to see Jupiter myself through my telescope I have managed to work out to use after 3 years of having it. It‘s amazing that you can see the moons as well.
Although it‘s far away and you can‘t see Jupiter in great detail it‘s still fantastic that you can still see the planet and it‘s moons with these devices

Yes. And the secret is go to the beach in summer late. Everyone leaves by 6 ish. Waves to yourself.

Many years ago, when I was still living in Melbourne, one of my mates had a ski boat and we would head up to Pykes Creek reservoir in the mid afternoon on Sundays…get there about 4.30-5pm and everyone would be leaving…we would get the place to ourselves. It was fantastic.
