Pick 34 - Who Do We Take?

The other big factor is who has FS or academy prospects next year and looking to bank points, whilst moving back in this year’s order. We’d have to be looking at a specific prospect to do that. But seems as though taking our hand this year and moving up next year may be easier

Ok then. We need a Rioli.

I really should have done my homework first.

Any club that ‘trades down’ picks will be in a unique position. Having a look at the draft order, GWS’ pick 25 could be available as they would’ve already taken 3 of their most highly rated talents and then may have someone they really like that is likely to go after pick 34.

Any swapping of picks will result in the club moving up the order having to pay significantly. Can’t see us getting into the first round.

I’m confident that Dodoro can convince GC that pick 34 > pick 2.

How many did the Bulldogs have?

Not really. If they have a last pick after our last pick, we wouldn’t be able to match.

Three Cat B picks. Lavender is currently taking one. There will be a few options for our other two this year, although don’t be surprised if we don’t take any more.

It all depends on how good they turn out to be. If for example Pickett replicates Kelly’s form this year, we’d be kicking ourselves if we passed him at #34 even though he’s 26 years old.

I think age shouldn’t particularly come into it. If a player like Pickett or Parker can potentially impact next year and be close to (if not) best 22, then use #34 on them. If there is a better kid prospect at that pick, take the kid.

Not happening. First round picks are way more valuable than that.

Very unlikely.

Never know someone might bite…just look at calton a few years ago with the Omeara situation…lol

Big difference this year is the lack of academy picks high in the draft. If you’re Richmond, Brisbane or GWS you’d bank on being able to gather points next year if required in a shallower draft. And take end of 1st round picks this year and hope some good prospects slide

ANNOUNCE KADE KLEMKE

Classic. Doesn’t make a difference based on where we are. And seems to just rank top end players on where they think they will fall in draft. Take from that what you will…

True. But it does let us know who we thought was our likley pick at 9 if Shiel wasnt done.

Can anyone make it out? Is it Hately?

Fair chance if hadn’t done his shoulder before half time in 01 we’d have won that one as well.

There is no way a player like Dean would be playing these days! 180cm 99kg.

Lol…what a blunder.

Hmm plenty that wouldnt agree with u about jake. He is as consistent as they come, not flashy nor brilliant in any way. But you can pencil him in for 28plus everyweek, and u know he will make the right desisions, hit targets, and run his opponents into the ground.

Jake played the least amount of footy as a junior of the 3 Lloyd boys. He didn’t play a game till he was 16. All 3 played state level basketball.

Both Bill and Matt where better footballers as juniors then jake because of this.

Matty is the best junior of the 3. Though has not been able to show perhaps his greatest asset this year due to no preseason with his ancle injury. That is endurance these boys can gut run all day long. The amount of training and type of training they do is incredible. You have to be seriously mentally tough to get though it.
