Isn’t the rookie draft on the same night/day now, so it probably should be our next pick after last in draft.
IE first rookie pick.
Its pretty unfair if it isn’t

Why is it unfair? If we don’t rate a F/S prospect enough for a senior list spot, but another club does, I think it is imminently fair that the kid goes to the place that will give him the two year contract.

With three mature players in, GHS, Miles, Hombsch, Ellis, maybe promoting Holman, and picks 2/3/6 I can definitely see GCS trading out some later picks. Either that or they cut half their list.

Will they keep 2 and 3 or put them up for auction to the SA teams. Both have multiple firsts and both want to be at the pointy end of the draft.

If they auction do they value two firsts this year, or bank one for next? It will be interesting.

Hmm plenty that wouldnt agree with u about jake. He is as consistent as they come, not flashy nor brilliant in any way. But you can pencil him in for 28plus everyweek, and u know he will make the right desisions, hit targets, and run his opponents into the ground.

Jake played the least amount of footy as a junior of the 3 Lloyd boys. He didn’t play a game till he was 16. All 3 played state level basketball.

Both Bill and Matt where better footballers as juniors then jake because of this.

Matty is the best junior of the 3. Though has not been able to show perhaps his greatest asset this year due to no preseason with his ancle injury. That is endurance these boys can gut run all day long. The amount of training and type of training they do is incredible. You have to be seriously mentally tough to get though it.

Jake plays system football (fits into Sydneys system). Loves a chip kick. Poor overhead. Doesn’t play in our first 18. Matty just isn’t rated among recruiters. Apologies if he’s your mate. Isn’t in the top 70 kids going round this year but may cause a surprise.

The fact that Cyril, Daniel and Willie havewon Premierships within 2 years of being on an AFL list is nothing short of unbelievable. Dean was on our list in 2000 and played a couple of games that season.

Success has followed the Rioli family. We need to invest in it.

You forgot to list Maurice. His record wasn’t too shabby.

Although Maurice joined a Richmond side that would play in a GF, and even won a NS, but Richmond lost the match and wouldn’t make another GF for 35 years!

With Baguley on our rookie list and with the assumption that we’ll keep Draper, mynott and McNeice on the rookie list as well. It’s likely that opening a spot on the senior list is just to cover our bases should a bid for Mason come in the ND, if not we’ll rookie him and go with 39 and 5 rookies. Or give him 2 years straight up and take him with 84.

Hind at 34 is unlikely, if a club wanted him in the top 50 they would have tried to organise a trade with Carlton or GC for their mature age spots. Hind at 66 is more likely

Definitely go Ely Smith if available if not then go Sydney Stacks, with 66 go Matt Neagle or Daniel Hanna, 80 use to Elevate Mckernan, rookie draft pick up baguley and Mason Fletcher, Cat B Rookie go Morrisey, then still have a senior spot a cat a rookie spot and a cat b rookie spot left
