Only if the high court decide dual citizenship isn’t what the constitution says it is.
Justice Kean also considered that it was reasonable to conclude that he knew he was a British citizen at the time of his nomination, going back to his 1974 naturalisation. That reasoning might not apply to the Australian born pollies.
It still needs to go to the Full Bench to decide whether he took reasonable steps to renounce. in that event, the Court will need to decide whether to follow precedent in handing the seat to the next PHON ( Pauline’s sister) or to go for a re-election.
I work with a parent of children at Craigburn. The kids there are over the freaking moon at what’s happening. Apparently this was a student-lead project where they identified a worthy charity and activity to raise funds. All the work has been done by the kids themselves.
Bear in mind that the “viral” cycle for this story is only two days old. They could be looking at a vast sum by the time this plays out.
