Cuts to welfare family payments and higher education.

Tax breaks for corporations.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Turnbull government.

Tax cuts to big business literally never works. It ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  drives me insane. There is almost 100 years of empirical data to point to.

Iā€™m sure big business thinks it works very well thank you very muchly.

Why??? Most of the big businesses donā€™t pay ANY tax!

Trickle-down festive cheer.

Yeah that trickle is the LNP ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  on our backs and saying itā€™s rain

Itā€™s not intended to work the way they say it will.

Damien Drum promoted to the Turnbull Ministry

Must be a first for an VFL/AFL coach

Off top of my head, Brian Dixon & Darell Baldock have done that at state level. Probably others.

Thereā€™s now a Minister for Sport in cabinet but not a Minister for Science.

Jeez Iā€™m glad we have a forward-looking tech savvy businessman as PMā€¦

David Littleproud, the minister for Cubby Station, cotton farming and water theft is now the minister for agriculture. Top stuff Malc. Barnaby has reluctantly moved on to infrastructureā€¦ and is going to build Gina a railway line!

Probably means we pay them now

Think he is a Parliamentary Secretary, one step down. Barnaby would allow only one Vic Nat in the Ministry. Chester was offered the Parliamentary Secretary job, but turned it down.

Bit by bit, it gets worse

Adam Giles goes full Andruska, but actually gets called on it:

i heard his ā€œresponsesā€ last night, what an utter scumbag. his incomplete recollections were as much an admission of knowing as youā€™ll ever hear.

^^^Except of course for Andruska.

I will bet Giles didnā€™t try to pull a stunt saying that he forgot and left his notes in his room forcing everyone to wait while he went to get them.

What a shame that J Mudd didnā€™t do that RC - otherwise he would have commended Giles as the second best witness in history.

Michaelia Cash loses AWU documents court fight
2 minutes

December 20 2017 - 1:46PM

Employment Minister Michaelia Cash has two weeks to hand over documents linked to raids on the Australian Workers Union after she lost a legal bid in the Federal Court.

Justice Mordecai Bromberg on Wednesday found the AWU had a legitimate reason to see the documents from Senator Cashā€™s office to determine if there was political motivation for the October 24 raids in Melbourne and Sydney.

He found the AWU ā€œhas a legitimate forensic purposeā€ in seeing the communications between Senator Cash and the Registered Organisations Commission.

But Senator Cash will not have to hand over all the documents the union sought, with Justice Bromberg limiting access to only relevant paperwork.

The raids drew scrutiny in parliament after the media arrived at the AWUā€™s offices before police, thanks to a tip off from her now-former media adviser David de Garis.

The union will also get documents from the Fair Work Ombudsman and its media adviser Mark Lee.

ā€œI am satisfied that in seeking each of categories one to five, the AWU has a legitimate forensic purpose of demonstrating that the decision to initiate the investigation was motivated by the political purpose alleged or was directed by the minister,ā€ Justice Bromberg said in his ruling.

Senator Cash needs to hand over her documents by January 5. Mr de Garis and Mr Lee have until January 11, while the Fair Work Ombudsman has until January 16.

You have to like Mordy Bromberg, even though he played for Hawthorn.

Iā€™m not sure how Justice Bromberg being a former Trade Union Official and former ALP candidate can be unbiased in a case like this one
