Possibly former #45 - Tom Edwards - thru 2026

The thing that impressed me the most was his want to be the man of the moment. I don’t think we have enough of those guys. Who knows if he will become anything, but you can understand why the recruiters invited him. After watching those unreal highlights, I am not as surprised he kicked 4 in a practise match.

Good choice of team. I’d start Perkins on field over Gresham but that’s about it.

But build like a brick shithouse.

I was impressed with his agility when the ball was on the ground, as well as his goal sense.

Obviously loves a speccy too, and apparently has good endurance.

I’m telling ya’ll he’s going to be our Bailey Fritsch.

The lanky, local accountant on top of the corner milkbar turns out to be an absolute goal stud.

Yep, we need more of this.

Overall, it’s a better to have guys that are unselfish or try to bring others into the game than to have a heap of heroes that want to make it all about themselves.

Too often though, we see our blokes make the wrong call. Sometimes what’s best for the team is for the player to take ownership of the moment. It’s one more tick if Edwards is that kind of player

I read an article that said he flew back to Perth on Sunday. Not sure why that would be?

The boys are not training until Thursday, maybe just going back to see the family

Needed to organise to move his entire life?

Wanted to tell his family the news in person.

Hi Mum, guess what. Essendon are going to sign me up. I can’t wait for them to train out of me any natural ability I have to football, plus my goal kicking will become so much more random. I love surprises.

Hi mum you know this football thing I play on weekends that you always said was a waste of time? Guess what?

Probably told Baldwin got the gig and decided to head back.

Legs small, torso small-medium, arms extra large…

Edwards, I suspect, is and plays taller than he appears.
Don’t think the over sized shorts helped his appearance on Saturday.

A medium sized forward who is good in both the air and at ground level and who can kick accurately is well worth serious consideration

Nothing of him but very smart, good mark - off 1 game he reminds me of Gunston.

Funnily I thought the Eddie bets style shorts made him look shorter aswell

Hopefully Tom will be better than Norman.

Terrible news his goal sense hit the ground so early in his career.
