Potential Essendon coaching candidates?

In hindsight it’s such a shame hird didn’t get the gig over Scott.

By about now (or end of next year at latest) he would have either essentially proved he could do the job and the supporters would be happy and the naysayers shut up -

Or, he ‘failed’ and we would almost certainly be no worse off as a team but this interminable hird debate would be over!

Hird not getting the job was the best thing that has occurred at this club. Firstly he was a big Dodoro fan. Secondly, he has refused to go do the hard yards as an assistant.

I loved Hirdy as a player, but he shouldn’t ever coach Essendon again.

you don’t mind him coaching his son?

Sounds like He’s done a good job so far

He’d be my choice. Horse is a very very good coach. Or alternatively a young coach like Gia with Hinkley as senior assistant / director of coaching.

Having researched the background of all the possible assistants over the past week, looked at their history and watched YouTube videos of interviews with them all, here is my list. Only first time coaches win flags these days.

Top priority, fit the rebuild style perfectly, good experience under quality coaches and programs. Have the personality to be a head coach and most know the inner workings of the Essendon footy club.

Secondary options if they need to get more options for interviews:

Danny Daly

Brendan lade

Michael Barlow

Nathan Bassett

No mention of Shaun Grigg?

I don’t think he has had enough years as an assistant yet.

Michael Voss is available.

Need to get ahead of the times. AI coach.

We’d be no better than we are now. They’re both ■■■■■■■ hopeless

Considering how traditionally poor our culture is, imo you go and get the coach that is all about building strong culture.

John Longmire.

I don’t think a first time coach is the best thing for us. Not with such a large shadow hanging over this club’s historical finals performances.

Solly coach with Hinkley as senior assistant /head of coaching is what I heard a whisper about.
