Stat question: Has Dustin Fletcher played in more wins against Carlton than anyone else in history?
Edit: That would be great to tell the Grandkids. “Nobody has farked Carlton more than me young fella.”
last week was great, but I think absolutely smashing these kents would be a great way to repay the fans.
end Carlton
Yup, I've been banging on about that for a while now. Last year's inconsistency was due to Thompson in charge. Hird gets the best out of the players. Not to many people have said that loudly esp last year.
Seems to be alot of patting on the back of Hird at this point in time, when there were plently willing to throw him under the bus last year, esp after the first 3 weeks of the season, cos you know thompson was such a better coach. That’s not aimed specifically at you cos I have no memory of specific people and their opinions, just remember more talk about how Thompson was the man, and very little to the contrary.
Quoted PostCarrazzo: It's Italian for turnoverSpeaking of that joke, this is seven years old now and very few of the players are still at the club, but still funny. Forget who wrote it?
Good morning Greg,As requested, I have updated the status report on our core group. Thanks for emailing the words to the club song in case we eventually win, but no-one can remember the tune. Kade seems to thinks it’s the same tune as the Vic Bitter commercial. Can you confirm?
All the best

Well, given we only needed a temp coach for a year, Thompson was the best choice since he was the most experienced of our coaching panel.
Having said that, I would always prefer Hird as coach… you just need to see the passion that the team played with in 2013, especially in the Freo game, and the fact that almost everybody is staying on due to wanting Hird as coach (Licha was going then changed his mind once he was convinced that Hird was being kept on).
Never forget that Hird had us flying in 2nd place until the farking AFLPA told the players they weren’t going to be playing finals.
Afl match preview has us winning by 10. they are so lid on over there
preview by Howard Cotton who is a carlsum supporter…
‘Newly appointed Carlton coach Terry Wallace’ has a nice ring to it…
Hope we smash the Scum by a big enough margin to get NotmyfaultHouse sacked.Oh wait… I take that back… we want him to keep Farking Carlton up for more years to come

Posts like this annoy me. What makes you think Malthouses replacement wouldn’t be even worse? We all wanted Ratten to stick around to keep farking them over but turns out he was a better coach than the replacement. Malthouse leaving and people thinking they would replace him with someone better is giving Carlton wayyyy too much respect. Hang your head in shame.I fully expect if Malthouse leaves they will replace him with someone even worse. I predict Big Fev will make a comeback to Carlton as coach. After he gets the Clarkson Approved ™ accreditation, of course.
Will mark his first game in the box by ■■■■■■■ on the glass in front of everyone.

if henderson does play back hurley is going to own liam jones so hard it isn’t funny. My guess, Henderson starts back to try and quarter back and play the ‘gibson role’. Hurley sees Jones subbed half early in the third and henderson is swung forward.
MM loves taggers.
Expect to see:
Gibbs - watson - gibbs has done some reasonable jobs in the past but never on jobe though he has tried
Everitt - Hepp - Everitt has the tank to run with hepp on the outside and can go with him in the air, expect hepp to play closer to the contest and get about a million tackles if this match up eventuates. Could also see Everitt going to BJ which he did last year.
curnow - has a pretty decent record against stanton
Carazzo - another potential option for watson, may end up with stanton if they send curnow to zaha instead, he’ll get someone.
*Edit: they brought armfield in, he’ll probably go to colyer or zerrett. That’s 5 hard tags i’m expecting.
from there i think we can expect colyer, merrett and cooney to get pretty favourable match ups so i think we should be looking to them to try and really drive our spread and ball carrying this week.
i suspect there mind set will be to drag us down to there level and play an intensely negative style of game. Lets say they do win some of these match ups and break even in the middle. I reckon our backline will completely control this game for us unless our mids get absolutely hammered.
Jamo and Henderson/rowe are actually probably reasonably well suited to JD and carlisle particularly if it is wet and they can draw them into a wrestle. they need to stay on their bikes and hit up at the ball. Our mids and half forwards need to generate enough run so that we can honour those leads rather than shelling our 50 from long range.
I think the worst case scenario is they break even in the middle and force us into bombing long but even then i think we will be able to cause enough turnover ball and our backline will be so well on top of them that we should still come out of it 3 to 4 goals the better.
If we win the midfield battle and give carlisle and JD good service we should thump them.
i think for them to be any chance of winning one of their key forwards will have to do something totally out of the box and there midfield would have destroy us.
With that in mind we need to keep a close eye on casboult and not underestimate his aerial ability. He is just the kind of spud who could jump up and kick 5 straight from nowhere. Judd too needs a minder, he can’t be allowed to run his own race, i reckon melk will be looking forward to the contest. If their midfield gets a run on that is when murphey comes into his own and he can run from the front. wouldn’t mind seeing howlett just hammer him repeatedly early just to get on top of him.
Bring the pressure and intensity that we have the last 2 rounds and we will be fine. Go Bombers.

8 day break but also a trip to Subi which historically has a negative effect on teams the following week...
Yeah. Teams that actually tried, maybe.
I hope all the talk I'm hearing is that the team are really focussed to not drop these types of games is actually true. For the last few years we haven’t lived up to these expectations and continued to falter with games we should easily win.
After last year losing to St Kilda and Melbourne etc, when we should have easily won, this tends to make me nervous about tomorrow.
I won’t believe it until I see it. I want to see some aggression from the start!
Hirds coaching us this time…I have faith
Goddard’s 250th & what an absolute revelation he has been for the team both on & off the field. Beside the fact that we are a 10+ goal better side than the Bluebaggers I’m sure the players, coaches and the club will be keen for a BIG win in this one. Would be great to give back to BJ especially for taking on the pr role and deflecting the vultures over the last year.
This is my first Carlton game since we came back in 2013 (?) when we switched Carlisle forward. I get far too angry at Carlton games so I just stay home.
Hope it’s an easy win so I can enjoy a day at the footy.
