Pre-Game Round 3 vs **** Carlton

Relax. We’re about to absolutely demolish these ■■■■■■.

Can’t wait to see it first hand.

8 day break but also a trip to Subi which historically has a negative effect on teams the following week…

Been burnt too many time over the last few years, gonna be a while before I'm confident on a game like this.

That’s my mindset. The next 3 weeks will really show us where we’re at. Carlton, Collingwood, St Kilda. 3 rubbish teams that we should beat. And if we actually do then I can relax and accept that we’re actually a good team. Until then, not so much.

Add me to the list of those who feel that way. For years we’ve been pulling off sensational wins against the odds and following them up with humiliating losses against the odds. Carlton really do look pretty weak this year, but like all teams they have some good players there who have made us look very ordinary in the past – and as somebody pointed out above, their crap players seem to choose the games against us to produce their sole good performance of the year.

One week at a time. It’s a cliché, but that’s the way it has to be.

I’d be interested to hear who these good Fark Carlton players are?

Couldn't beat them in the last round last season.

Judgment reserved atm.

I’m sorry but I don’t agree with this whatsoever. You only need to look at our situation last year; it was round 23 and we had all that BS hanging over us and impending show cause notices. The world was against us and the boys were absolutely cooked, physically and mentally. This year their minds are clear and and they are hungry for success. Don’t underestimate how much these boys will be driven to succeed and prove everyone how good they are, I have a feeling that many teams will underestimate us this year and it will be to their detriment.

This. Essington is long gone. The saga made us a bit up and down due to stress off the field. Despite that the ups were very impressive. Now the monkey is surgically removed from being grafted onto our backs by ASADA/AFL/former government it’s time to see what we promised in 2013 before what happened, happened. And, we’re a lot better now than even then!

All hubris aside, I’m wondering what Mick will try.
Whatever it is, it can’t be great to completely change the gameplan on a weeks notice, which is what he’s almost compelled to do.

To be honest I’m kind of expecting him to turn it into an under tens game, with everyone one the ball.

If people think an 8 day break is beneficial to fark carlton don’t forget that they had an 8 day break leading into their game vs west coast

I was shocked at the quality of football the WCE v Blues game was. If we take away the history and hatred and kept it form line only - we should be good enough to win by 5+goals. Will be interesting to see if we have the legs after the last intense games - Carlton may back themselves to out run us if they are close in the final qtr. The fact we have Fletcher back is a huge bonus…

I hope all the talk I'm hearing is that the team are really focussed to not drop these types of games is actually true.

For the last few years we haven’t lived up to these expectations and continued to falter with games we should easily win.

After last year losing to St Kilda and Melbourne etc, when we should have easily won, this tends to make me nervous about tomorrow.

I won’t believe it until I see it. I want to see some aggression from the start!

Hirds coaching us this time…I have faith

Hardly worth us turning up. Expect them to stay with us for the first 5 mins and then the Joe and Jake clunk show will rip their pea hearts out.

Us by 10 in a close one.

Some unknown to kick 7 for them.

Like all fans, it is going to take a while for all of us to get used to the fact that our side is now a good one. We have been left with scars from previous hurts and it seems wrong to somehow assume we will win a game...

but we will dominate this game. Have no fear and adjust your dials. Cast your mind back to the days of 1999-2001 and relax. This team is an experienced, saga-free ball of human muscle and skill. We are going to obliterate teams like farkcarlton and leave them crying for mercy. Hird will be responsible for the downfall of MM, just like Vlad before him. Hird will be the last man standing against all his critics.

Like we needed anymore motivation to smash the scum, but then MM has the audacity to come out and speak his mind on OUR great club. Nice distraction from the fact that your shitstain of an ‘organisation’ has achieved diddly squat for 15 years and looks like achieving the same in the next 50 years too.

Bombers by 60+, bank on it.

like the enthusiasm.
But they are still just words, and 2 good performances doesn’t make us a good side, esp as you say with said scars.

Again like the jist, but actions speak louder than words.

See you back here at around 6pm tomorrow.

I’ll see you back here in 20 odd weeks, when those actions have spoken for themselves, hopefully

Shortest post this year was ATE calling the players mentally weak.

This is going to get real ugly, real quick for the Blooos.
Then the siren will go, the game will start, and things will get even worse.

I looked at the matchups... I honestly cannot see a way Carlton can win this. We will smash them in the middle too. They have a very weak, inexperience midfield that will cop it from one of the best in the business.

We will win. Easily

Yes close to the weakest forward half in the league taking on close to the strongest backline in the league.
I can’t see them scoring anywhere near a competitive score.
I think we will win 60 plus.
Hope the rain stays away though.
