Getting ‘Simple Jack’ vibes. Just need him chasing a butterfly with a mallet

We should have a sweepstakes to guess the first person to get injured along with the type of injury

I wish they’d fix the audio so we could actually hear the interviewer’s questions.

Was there a reason Kako and Caddy didn’t have to do the 2 km run? I thought it was for all 1-4 year players.

Running is only a part of the game. We need our footballers to become good runners. Binns is a good runner, not sure about his footballing.

No offence Bully, but from what you’ve said here it seems to me that you’re in no way in any position to judge who is and who is not competent in their development roles. Judging them based on interviews is crazy to me.

I’m tempted to say “trust the club” but they probably haven’t earned that trust yet - even so, the leaders of the football department will be in a much better position than any of us to judge these things.

How did caddy look besides the new ink?

here’s hoping he has got over that groin issue :grimacing:

Fair enough, all I can really judge them on is how competent they sound when they speak. Cloke, for example, came across really well and seems to have worked closely with Caddy, who’s developed superbly under him. Beyond that, you look at their playing careers and the systems they’ve come from to get a sense of their grounding.

I was a bit disappointed we missed out on Luke Power to be honest. There’s only so many Essendon people who were part of that unsuccessful era that you want back at the club. Especially when Brad has already brought in a few from North, another system that hasn’t had much success.

Look at someone like Mark Williams: everywhere he’s gone, he’s made a clear impact — Port Adelaide, Werribee, the Giants with their young players, Richmond (especially Dusty), and then Melbourne with guys like Kozzie. That’s the kind of proven development record I’d prefer to see at our club, rather than more of the same from past Essendon players who haven’t yet shown they can bring young talent through.

How vocal are Hurley and Stanton out on the track ? I thought they were known for being pretty quiet in their playing days.
