I think the fact that neither side has been anywhere near success for over two decades certainly makes it cringe imo.

This is a 16 cups half empty thread.

Absolutely stank of two currently irrelevant clubs stuck in the past.

Was it the clubs idea or the AFL’s? AFL were wanting to push this as a marque blockbuster matchup and one they want to continue with. Maybe they pushed it to promote the game?

I liked seeing the cups. Supporters are fickle. If the club doesent embrace their history, the supporters complain. If the club focuses on the future and doesnt discuss past glories, the supporters complain.

How often do you get to see 32 premiership cups together like that? Its better than them collecting dust in a cabinet.

I like to think of it as a way of rubbing St.Kilda’s nose in it.

“See these - these are what good football clubs accumulate”.

The fact everyone in the footy world hates it makes me think we should do it again

Don’t really care. Both clubs have a big history, doesn’t really matter that they both have been irrelevant for a while, it’s good to appreciate the history and the good times and reflect and long for better days to come. The people losing their minds over how “cringe” it is are more cringe than that act itself.

Anything your enjoying this season big fella?

Was bizarre. Felt odd at the ground. Happy to leave them on display at Tulla. Wheel them out again when we have 17

Now that would be a flex.

Still here, still trolling.

Some of them were made of bronze, as was the style of the time.
