Preseason Training 11/11/24 (and onwards till someone creates a new thread)

I think they will all probably be nursed through.

Kako is the only one that likely won’t be considering he is very familiar with the club and training standards already and has a body ready for seniors already.

Not the case. They do some main training and then are pulled out of some drills. Kako looks like he will do more than the others however

Kako is actually still recovering from his syndenmosis so he’s not doing everything yet.

Yep that’s fair enough because it’s injury related.

I was talking more about what will happen this pre-season considering they have only been at the club for 4 days!

I’ve got some at home, I had another taste but I can’t really describe it other than its a mild blueberry bubblegum flavour and very sweet but not syrupy or heavy like a chocolate milkshake.

Blue heaven history lesson for you… I’ve got a great-uncle who was the first to import blue heaven flavour into Australia, sometime late WW2 or shortly after. He had a Milk bar/Diner in the Ivanhoe area which was popular with American servicemen, and they kept asking for blue heaven milkshakes. One of these servicemen hooked up the great uncle with a manufacturer in the states (who he was related to apparently) and the imports came from there. Wildly popular for a while, the uncle was like the Heisenberg of the milkshake world…

Stringer in a singlet 2 sizes too big for him is one way to make him look slimmer. Love ya Jakey, hope he kicks bags.

Against us then flips the bird to the Essendon crowd as he celebrates

It’s more like Homer and Frank Grimes

“You’ve played in a premiership? You?”
“Sure, you’ve never won one?”

Well, I for one will miss Jakey.
I hope he has a good year with the Giants. I’ll still enjoy watching him play.

I was at a training session last year where there were two groups of players, one on each ground. What do you mean it hasn’t been used?

orange isnt very slimming either. i hope he has a good season though and can help gws win a flag.

Fark them hope gws and jakey flop big time and they win nothing.

But will he be ready enough?

I was going to say he was going to put GWS on his shoulders but, he doesn’t seem to have any

Praise the lord we had Kako fall in our laps makes the loss of Stringer palatable for me.

I don’t care if Stringer kicks 200 goals, he was lazy and a negative influence. Should’ve never played as much football as he did. No excuse for that many zinger burgers in a season

Creamy Soda and Creaming Soda were always different weren’t they? In my mind at least :joy:

Creamy Soda - Brown Goodness
Creaming Soda - Basically just rebranded Raspberry designed to fool my dad into buying the wrong thing.

I was at training today.

A few notes:

  • The draftees took part in the warm up drills and then sat out during the full ground drills and mainly did some running

  • Nguyen was a bit of a standout in those warm up drills, he seems really zippy and good in tight spaces, versus a Gresham who was a bit fumbly

  • In the main drills it’s hard not to get excited about Saady, just sits behind the ball or on a wing and drifts forward, ball magnet and doesn’t miss a target. Makes good decisions.

  • It’s interesting to see the backline, we will become markedly better purely by the players who are kicking and who are not. For example, Zach Reid, Jaxon Prior, Archie Roberts, Jordan Ridley all kicking it out of there is a good prospect.

  • I noticed a fair bit of Dylan Shiel, in the back half.

  • Guelfi was up and about, he gets out the back on the fat side a lot.

Cox, Langford, Mckay, Menzie, Caldwell didn’t take part in the main drills.
