Exactly, though don’t think Rutten needed injuries to tell him who we are carrying. Clear as day he knows who can take this club forward and who can’t.
Better to be tested now that in 2 years time. All highlights where we are deficient and need a boost, depth wise.

Rating needs more context. Are we rating based on wins and losses, or based on expectation versus actual performance to date.
If it was wins and losses, I give it a 6. One game out of the 8 with a decent percentage. Not the worse first half but could be better, particularly round 1 vs Hawks.
If based on expectations, about 8. I had us pencilled in bottom 4, not just wins and losses bottom 4 but fairly uncompetitive with all but the worse teams. To be even talking about being close to the 8, coupled with our 2020 draftees plus emergence of younger players like Parish, Laverde, Langford, was way beyond what I’d hope for.
Therefore I gave 7 as an average.
I gave it a 7. I was tossing up between 7 and 6; I really don’t see how anyone could give it higher than 7. We’ve won 4 against teams that aren’t very good and 1 against West Coast, who may scrape into the 8; we’ve lost 7; we’re not in the top 8.
We get 7 purely on style of play. It’s been years and years since we consistently played high pressure football; now we’re doing it almost every week. That’s what’s kept us in games, won us games and given us a percentage over 100 despite the win-loss ratio.
The second half of the year will be testing.
Because coming into the season we were expected to be worse than all of them except North, and historically we have played crp against teams we should beat. Whereas 2 of those 4 became old fashioned canings.
