Reminders you're getting old

Available at all good Kmart stores.

Which actually, when you read up on Cobain’s facade of being a rebel while commercialising everything to his own benefit is kind of fitting.

Furious Jnr has one of those. But in my defence imparting my love of grunge to him is probably one of my best parenting achievements.

Well done!!

He also has Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Led Zeppelin shirts. The Soundgarden shirt is a Badmotorfinger shirt I got at their concert many years ago which seems to have shrunk since then. He went way down the rabbit hole and now listens to proto grunge like Mudhoney and Green River. I should probably introduce him to Spiderbait soon.

He’s a total band nerd, so he actually knows stuff about music. He starts telling me things about notes and chords and harmonies and I can only reply that it is noise that I like.

Noise and attitude for me. Got me interested to learn and play drums. Neighbors hate it.

I’ve had a few concert t-shirts do that over the years…bloody cheap sh*t

Most of my clothes have started doing this.

They were better quality back in my day.

I have that same problem. Seems all my band t-shirts have shrunk while sitting in the cupboard for the last 20 years… along with a sizeable portion of my wardrobe generally…

Now Bali T-Shirts are different…I’m sitting here wearing a “Tubes” t-shirt I bought in Bali way back in 1991…and it still fits…no bloody concert t-shirt shrinkage here

Do you have a Bintang singlet too?

No…my physique has never really been singlet material

Mrs Wim takes a photo of the baking time and temp on the packaging, so she can read it.

I’m not quite there yet, but getting close.

Tried SUP’ing for the first time this morning.

Boy, do I feel every bit 50-something right now…

What’s SUP’ing?

(I have a feeling that helps me qualify (even further) for the thread title)

Stand Up Paddleboarding?

If so, yeah. Knees are just fine for me.

Where did you try it?

Lysterfield Lake.

Where all good watersports are tried first thing in the morning, so you can be humiliated in front of as few people as possible.

Wasn’t an ideal morning for it… pretty windy.

Could get up on my feet ok (probably not with any elegance) but found turning tricky.
