Review Essendon's 12th win in a row over Norf - 2025 round 8

Yeah Im mildly happy now that the rebuild due to injury is undeniable and will be happy to see who comes on next, Hayes is a given , Id like them to give a game or 2 to our young drafted rucks, (you just never know) sometimes you dont see how good a kid is until they get a crack at the big time.
Poor old goldy who is an absolute bloody warrior and legend in my option for how keen he is to help us, is totally cooked as a player

So it turns out that no surgery, but he does have a fracture in the foot.

I’d say there’s zero chance he’s playing again in a month, and id also guess ( and of course it’s pure guesswork) that whenever he does return , he’ll still need ligament surgery at the end of the year. And you’d have to wonder whether he has any confidence in that ankle at all this year.

Horrible injury to cop.

Langford plays?

How do we go from kicking 6 goals in the first quarter to then only managing 3 goals in 3 quarters in perfect conditions against a bottom few side and STILL win.

Hobbs and Tsatas barely had an impact. Langford can’t kick a goal anymore. Prior is a crab. McKay is earning quarter of a million per disposal each game. Menzie is a sub. This team is KAKA.

My kingdom for a convincing win. Has there been a more depressed set of supporters when the club is 4-3 with two games in the next three against (currently) the 14th and 16th ranked teams?

That’s because we know this side fckn STINKS.

This is the tactic we’ll continune to see as we have no answer, we get sucked in to the contest and don’t win or kill the ball

We found out who was incharge of the game during last 3 quarters

So he was happy to give norf a shot at goal from the square- a huge decision in a close game - for an infringement he didn’t see clearly, but wouldn’t award a free to Essendon when his error was pointed out to him.
Proving what we’ve always known is that there is umpiring bias against Essendon

The Women Won the Weekend by beating the reigning premiers and top-of-the-ladder Werribee. Woohoo!

Team For Against Result Percentage
AFL 65 62 W 105%
VFL 73 83 L 88%
VFLW 35 32 W 109%
TOTAL 173 177 2 - 1 98%

Huuuuuuuuge win over the reigning premiers after we withdrew all 10 of our AFLW players – we have the good HOBBS.

the ClaKKKo ego is taking a mighty beating, just check the claims of being ā€˜in’ more games as his evidence of advancing genius

We were on top in the midfield and had some quick movement into the forward line. They then got on top in the midfield and centre clearances and we couldn’t move the ball

Zah? our pressure in the first half of last season was well beyond this, as was our contested game until Richmond showed the league how to tear us apart and then we fell/

Very disappointing indeed !

I’d love our forwards to get holding frees like that one…

IMO Hobbs, Taitas, Jones and Prior are simply not up to it.

2 of the above can only be in side at the one time, otherwise we are in trouble. Jones is out, Prior is Brads fav and not going anywhere so one of Hobbs or Taitas needs a rest

This is 100000% the correct interpretation no matter what you hear.

This was the first time in 11 games that North conceded less than 95 points against a team. Go Dons

Has anyone seen any of this bullshit ever in any other AFL game?

The line after a win is ā€œit’s meaningless, what did it accomplishā€ā€¦ when we lose these types of games - eg Adelaide and Gold Coast last year the place goes into meltdown.

Expecting us to out tank WCE and NM these last 3 or 4 years is pretty much the same as expecting us to compete with the Hawks premiership dynasty; Lions three peat etc.
