Review the ANZAC Day cheating (2019 edition)

No. No he shouldn’t have gone to ground there.

Mongrel Punt spot on reading. Sums it all up. But as usual it will us getting flogged in the media and the club will ask how far to bend over before we’re even told to.

Next weeks banner should read:

“We were saying Boo-urns”

Because it was out on the wing in the clear I thought there was no excuse not to pay that trip.

He went to ground far too easily, looking for a free kick that wasn’t there. But bigger issue is the missed handball to Merrett that then put Merrett under pressure and caused him to then miss the handball back to Shiel. Quite simply, we butchered our chances, in spite of the poor umpiring.

You’re on your own atm

Yeah, we did miss a few chances. But the umpiring legitimately was the difference

I disagree with people wanting Worsfold to mention umpiring in his presser.

That would be an absolute cop out and send a ■■■■ message to the players. I thought we were great ytd after 1/4 time but our turnovers cost us far more than umpiring decisions.

I didn’t come away upset at all. I was rapt we showed we are good enough to mix it with the best because I didn’t think we were and I was wrong.

Hearing Kevin Muscat sook about the ref straight after a loss is embarrassing.

We failed to turn up for a quarter. Once we turned up we played a grinding finals style game for 3 quarters and got ourselves into a position where we could’ve won the game had we been more polished and composed. We were denied our biggest strength and still found a way to compete to the last minute of the game with one of the Grand Finalists from last year and side widely tipped to be vying for the prize again this year. There are wealth of positives from yesterday, we are in fact the big winners from the game in spite of falling a kick short on the scoreboard.

Looking forward to seeing us frank that form again next week against Geelong.

I’m still booing

Out of interest, who were the umpires yesterday? I want to make sure I boo them next time they officiate one of our games.

Has anyone address the absolute irony of Collingwood fans whinging about crowd behaviour?

I was surprised at how calm I was walking out of the ground.

But then I started watching the replay last night and I had to turn it off. I could feel the rage building and I sure as hell didn’t need that just before bed.

Bring on the Cats!

Woosha could have just said we missed our chances to win, players tried hard and I’m not going to criticise the umpires as I work within the industry but what does the media think?
It’s clear same fans were un happy

I remember looking at the list pre-game and being relieved we weren’t getting someone like a Margetts.

Nope.

Much prefer he said nothing. We can’t control it. We can control our disposal. Umpiring might be poor in a final and if our disposal is poor then we’ll lose again, if we tidy it up we win. Don’t give the players an out at all.

After finally removing the ramrod from our clacker, the announcer then blasts over the PA that some Collingwood player, ANY Collingwood player is about to receive a medal that exemplifies the Anzac Spirit - skill, courage, self sacrifice, teamwork and fair play.

After what we just witnessed, this announcement just rubbed salt in the wounds and THIS caused the booing.

The umpiring was shameful and showed the exact opposite of what Australia and ANZAC is all abut.

Ha, 774’s communications specialist running with the line that booing is not acceptable on ANZAC Day. Then he goes on to say the umpiring was ■■■■ and that the AFL does have issues. From this I gather that on a day that represents independence that we need to know our role and shut our mouths.

That’s fair enough. It was a more than serviceable game and if he does that every week , then stays in, no problem with that. And given the apparent injuries we got out of the game then slitting Raz back in is a no brainer.
