A fair few misery gutses on here as usual. No we didn’t play brilliantly, but we won by 40 points and are second on the ladder. No-one thinks we are anywhere near the finished product, but we don’t want to take a 40 pt win?? For perspective note the Port game, and it appears right now that WCE are leading Melbourne. I would have liked a better performance today, but teams can’t be up every week.

Holding the ball and throwing the ball have all but disappeared at AFL level. No use complaining about umpiring in this regard.

We only had to beat one team today, not a lot of them. We managed to beat the one we played…by 40 points.

If you’re happy with that, that’s fine. Honestly, I am envious. Last week I was just so encouraged by what I saw after halftime. I wanted to see more of it and instead only saw about 10 minutes. It reminded me of the only Essendon teams I’ve ever watched live and they are the ones that are inconsistent and eventually disappoint when it matters because they too used to picking and choosing when they bring their best. Hence, I’m disappointed and maintaining my reservations.

terrible spelling sure but our ability to allow I50 turn into scoring shots continues to be pretty shyte, and they bottled some easy chances in the way you would expect a bottom team to, and at 40% today is probs at the better end of our efforts

We do have a conversion issue, but it was exacerbated by the North defenders holding, pushing and chopping arms of our forwards in almost every contest. Have a look at what Corr was doing to Langford on the replay. It was the worst I’ve seen other than maybe when Aliir was playing for Sydney.

The end result is all that matters, and the team should be judged on that. I’m guessing 40ish points, but who knows.

I am well aware of how many votes I gave him. I thought he was the difference in the game, when he went to the middle.
All the work he did off the ball that enabled us the get the clearances and kick ahead.
