We’ve come to expect that type of consistent performance from those three so I wasn’t surprised by their contributions. Florent was decent and got his hands on it when playing midfield against some pretty good opponents. He was also solid when played across half back. Yep, decent game.
That’s an awesome word.
mills and Hayward are the very definition of average
mills may be one of the most overrated young kids, ever. do not rate him at all
Dammit. i knew it felt wrong
All the passion of an accountant’s telegram. Is this what it’s come to @Diggers, or is there a fan still locked away inside that bland shell? Are you scared the red and dark side might come out?
If we remain undefeated % doesnt matter.
Mills is like a few Hawthorn young ‘uns.
Looked pretty impressive when they had quality around them.
EXACTLY. Can’t believe that more people havent noticed this
You watch games not involving us?
Weirdo.
The way Stringer shoved Mills out of the way in a 1v1 made me giggty was Dusty Martin like
Merrett didn’t spend a lot of time in the midfield in the first half. He was relatively quiet. Not sure if he had a tag.
But came home strong in the last. Tippa also had a midfield role in the last.
Will be interesting if that is strategic move each week, of bringing in fresh legs at the centre bounce for the last quarter
Nah, Parker is a classic “gets a lot of it but doesn’t do much damage” player. Not worth dedicating 1/18th of your team to focus just on him.
Crappy journalism as usual.
“Finally there’s Essendon - and this is where you have to look at the facts, not just the ladder.”
Seriously,WTF looks at the ladder after 2 rounds?
"They’re also unimpressive margins against two teams who look likely to finish in the bottom six. "
Bottom 6? Well you’re only saying that because they lost those games to the bombers (by a so-called coin-flip), and because you (the journo) think the ladder is worth something after 2 rounds.
I’m not arguing that we were much better that our opponents across the whole game, but it should also be noted that the bombers led both games from start to finish. it’s not like it was neck and neck the whole game and we were just lucky when the siren went.
My 7yo kid has more intelligent footy analysis with his mates than this.
It was a nothing game between two average sides. Not much to get excited about.
Whoever wrote that didn’t watch the game. Looked at the result and made some assumptions.
Correct. Just gets huff’n puff and starts mouthing off at the opposition. Then squibs for free kicks.
Sydney stayed in the game because of the last ten minutes of the second quarter.
Without it they’d have been five goals down at half time and it would probably have been a blowout.
shrugs
But they weren’t and it wasn’t.
And for that reason I’m way harsher on Hurley than Francis.
You want to talk about decisions that could have cost us…
It was tracking towards a blowout early.
Only if Parish nailed that goal before half time would have put us beyond 20 points and killed all the momentum the Swans had.
You’d be surprised at how much spare momentum Sydney had up their sleeves at that point…
