A few years ago I used to admire the way Goodes played. When he called out that young girl at the G and put her through hell for his own gratification he lost me.
What was amazing to me was just how hated he was by supporters back then and that hatred was pretty much universal amongst a majority of non Sydney supporters.
The AFL in its infinite wisdom decided to outlaw the practice of sliding knees first into a player on the ground. This was and still is to a lesser degree a Goodes speciality.
Now he been elevated to the level of "elite stager" coupled with his constant whinging to the maggots who for some reason believe that he must be protected.

The Goodes one needs to be viewed from the side on angle. The one from fron on isn't so obvious. Side on you can see bags slide down, arm making some contact (nothing like the normal grappling that goes on without umpire reaction, and certainly nothing like Carlisle was having to work with). Then Bags ceases any contact, goodes lands on two feet leaning back slightly in a vague limbo pose, and suddenly lurches backwards, unassisted.

Yep, when Ryder missed that shot that was it. He's playing really well, arguably best on for us, but he needs to go back and slot that - then the momentum is ours to ride.
Disappointing loss - but as the coach said, no shame losing to them. They're a very good side with some terrific players. McGlynn was sensational, as was Parker. Just better than us.
What is annoying is that they looked soooo beatable in that third quarter - but after a brief lapse (like good teams do) they got their sh*t together.
And leave Ryder alone - he at least kept us in the ruck contest, Pyke absolutely pwned Bellchambers.

Well if they do, so do the boys On The Couch. Sheahan said Goodes had staged before and Pig agreed. Don't think Squealy said anything though. Probably couldn't believe the strength in Baguleys finger.
Geez that period of the second where we Owned the ball for 10 minutes and didn't out on the score board just killed us. That combined with the turnovers if the first quarter probably cost is a half time lead.
Frustrating
From the Randwick end where I was standing (albeit somewhat blurred vision due to too many pre game frothies) the middle of the third quarter when we got back to within about ten points but then let Shitney kick the last two goals of the quarter was the turning point IMO
At least we managed to get the whole very polite Swans supporters looking around us in disgust cos we out sung them with the "We are Essendon" chant
Not hard to do when most of them were on their Smart phones or knitting all game - most ignorant bunch of so called "football supporters" you could meet
