Review thread V Pies

I saw a game of horrible execution on Essendons part.

Collingwood were elite and fast. We couldn’t apply the same pressure they did.

Sharp is another slow plodder.

Yes, WTF was that all about

Nah Im good - I’ve accepted it.

Can’t make any argument that any of them worked, but this is just wrong.

Edwards to half back/wing

Langers spent time back and forward

McGrath time in the back pocket again

Day Wicks bobbing up at half back

Durham in the middle (barely seen it this year)

Tsatas sweeping at half back

Now in nearly every one of these they didn’t work, but changes did happen

Only Essington can get ahead of itself on the back of one win in 19 games.

if Merrett has a problem with being at the club the first thing he should do is get his fellow senior players in a room and ■■■■■■■ call them out DP for that utter trash performance

Can someone explain to me why our interchange numbers have been much lower than the opposition the past few weeks?

67 to us today. 74 to the Pies.
Similar numbers last week against the Suns.

Hird pleaded for the club to win on Footy Furnace last week said he’s tired of walking out being sad on Anzac Day

Time to watch a really good footy team play. Go Cats. ■■■■ our losers.

McKay and Reid - has ever been a worse key defender pair?

His next million’s going to be the easiest money anyone’s ever made in footy.

Really disappointing and frustrating.

Our only big day in the year on national tv against a hated but very worthy opponent and we show up and perform like that. Fans who attended deserve a medal of some sort

Truly amazing. And completely predictable. As per usual Collingwood simply played with us. Pressure pressure turnover; goal!!! or no pressure no pressure turnover; goal!!! Or watch and wait whilst the opposition hunt the ball like their lives depend on it; goal!!!

Lions win spoon in 2016; 3 gfs and 3 flags since then

Demons lose a bunch of elites and are sitting 5/2 and playing great footy

Hawthorn win 4 in the 2020s and will challenge again this year

Swans and Geelong always hover near the top

I don’t even know how we start again.

We are becoming much like StKilda and North of the last 30 years; going nowhere.

I thought we were a legit chance to win based on the last few weeks and if we didn’t at least fight it out till the end didn’t even do that

What do you mean ‘becoming’?

I’m ■■■■■■, but that was the clearest game I have ever seen of us tanking. For two and a half weeks n ow the team had gelled and was producing good football, with players playing in set places. Nek minit, players moved around befor ethe ball is even bounced and we suddenly look like ■■■■. Pies lose their best defender, so instead of leaving Edwards forward we move him just so Collingwood can have a defensive advantage. We then don’t play Tsatas in the middle until the game is gone. We put Langford back forward where he essentially has done nothing for the last four weeks. We tanked, pure and simple.

Watching a well drilled, trained and coached club is an eye opener.

Their back 6 is nimble, fast, springy.

McKay is not AFL standard and Reid is maybe a bit too skinny.

Their whole team works hard into space to give options and they have crafty neat kicking players who keep the ball constantly moving to hit those targets.

We just stopped giving the same level of effort to get into space and then the game basically ended midway through the second quarter.

Embarrassing.

We have become and probably gone past

We won’t be shithouse forever. Every club has its moment in the sun.

And yeah I’d like to think we could one day be a club that’s always there abouts.

its also only 6 days until another round of footy.

Thank god I had the brains not to financially support this club many years ago! Go woke go broke.

Why would they decide to tank this week after what we did the last two? We are just epically ■■■■ unfortunately
