Iâm just a long time member, a keen student of the game and with no inside contacts.
I just call it as I see it. I am analytical by nature and I try and analyse what is happening rather than just get angry at poor performance.

Itâs become a debacle for us on near annual basis.
The âagainstâ arguments will all point to tradition, Sheedyâs involvement at the start, crowd numbers etc ⌠but this club really has lost the right to just expect this fixture every year. The Sunday 4:40pm slot should be reserved for us, for at least the next 2 seasons.
What if one or both of the teams are from interstate. Whoâs home ground gets the game, or are we playing it at a 1/2 empty MCG.? If its a Vic team against an interstate team, you risk 80% of the crowd supporting one team.
I say leave it as it is - if we give it up weâll never get it back. Itâs been awesome since inception, so much so that the AFL have to try and replicate it for the rest of the competition. No-one is talking about omitting the pies. All we need is a competent coach.

The first clearance of the game was McGrath winning the ground ball, then handballing to Merrett who was caught holding the ball.
I get you hate parish⌠thats fine, but you could at least have even a tiny bit of accuracy to your rants
I would have absolutely zero qualms with the AFL taking Anzac Day away from us. Clearly nothing up till this point has been able to jolt us from our prolonged slump; perhaps loss of our marquee fixture will finally embarrass us enough to do something to rescue the club from oblivion.

This whole take away Anzac Day from Essendon is a ridiculous notion sorry. Its never been about where both teams are at. Many games have been close. Its about selling a stadium and both clubs big enough to have the day and tradition be a large scale event. Game is mostly sold out many months prior and both clubs have built it to be where it is.

We have to put up with the same emotional f-wits on this site every year we look like losing in the last Qtr that sook âtake the game off usâ.

Sure, last Saturday was embarrassing, last year a little disappointing given we lead half way thru the 3rd.
Look at the results between 2017 - 2024.
Plenty of close, classic games in a packed stadium, and weâve won a couple of them and drawn 1.
3 if you count the COVID year game, though that wasnât strictly on ANZAC Day.

People clearly lose their heads after a loss and with our last 25 years history of failure, too emotional.
Average losing margin across all ANZAC games is 23 points and recent games barring Saturday have been tight.
Embarrassing any true fan that thinks other clubs should be given the day.

As soon as 2mp gets tired heâs kicking for goals goes to â â â â , thatâs why he should chop out only (like stringer used to occasionally in the midfield) but not share the ruck duties 50/50.
I donât hate parish, heâs just a â â â â , lazy, selfish footballer who doesnât deserve an AFL list spot.

I donât think you can blame people for being too emotional - you answered it in your own post- 25 years of â â â â âŚ.its exactly why fans are emotional.
And 5 wins in 22 years is utter hot garbage, who cares what the average winning margin is. While the crowds wonât be as big if we lose it so we probably wonât from An economic perspective, it is completely reasonable for it to be discussed from a spectacle perspective- utter utter garbage we are- and the only thing embarrassing is certain fans thinking we have a god given right to the game and are untouchable- absolute junk
