Review thread V Pies

Lloyd wasn’t really being genuine though - he said we haven’t taken ownership before.

How many times have we heard “this isn’t what we stand for” in the last few seasons. It isn’t new IMO

He reckons this the first time we have taken ownership but you right with how we heard all this before

What would possess him to even say that about the young guys though? He said because he clearly believes it, and didn’t filter himself until he realised what he said

Also not a great look when you are smiling and then talking about how you need to dig deep

Parish absolutely soiled himself at the 42second mark of the video, saw contact coming and took his eyes off the ball

Also McGrath was pathetic in those clips.so soft and weak

McKay just doesn’t care, he is getting paid a stack of money and couldn’t care less. Just no care or effort in his game at all

Look i just dont get what some in here are seeing sorry. It was a decent interview that he had the guts to front up and say his peace. This interview is in 500th place of any concerns i have tbh. God.help any player wanting to do an interview now post losses if this one gets people upset

I’ve figured out what the Anzac day game is all about. It’s mostly there to entertain the general public not us. Bombers fans are only a small percentage of the viewers.

In order to entertain the viewers the AFL puts on an entertaining spectacle with us as the Washington Generals vs the Harlem Globetrotters

Why even make the comment on the young players who are busting their guts?

Why not be a senior player and a supposed leader and put all the focus on the senior guys?

Then I’ll give you the same challenge I alluded to with dmaplestone. Please list 3-4 actions the club has taken that indicate they have been doing a rebuild.

This re-emphasises my opinion that some should refrain from posting because it will be around 2 years before EFC is a decent team. There was nothing wrong with Langford’s interview. Some of the younger players were overwhelmed by the occasion and they received little support from the senior players.

Watch the AFL.com highlights. 4 minutes to go in the first, after DeGoeys goal. Hack kick forward by Pies from CBA and Langford has the opportunity to attack the footy in D50 and he totally, utterly, squibs it. And then does some 360 move outside the pack? WTF was that? Result? Pies players attack the ball Langford left and end up running into an open goal.

That’s not lack of ability or skill, if’s a complete lack of the attitude and desire and want, to win, and not understanding the commitment and desperation and body on the line it takes. Most of our kids have it, Caldwell and Durham did have it. Our senior group DO NOT. Langford and Parish the worst offenders this year.

FMD. Just watched it again. He has no shame even agreeing to an interview after that effort in s first q on ANZAC day.

“Maybe the young players, especially the boys playing their first ANZAC day game felt the nerves. But they will learn. The senior players, we let them down. We let the fans down. “

That’s what he should have said.

This so much.
Perhaps the kids were overwhelmed by the occasion but speak honestly and absolutely lay blame at the senior blokes

I’m getting more concerned that some young players will eventually leave. They’d be looking at other clubs, and seeing senior players actually leading the way.

Why 3-4 actions? How come you get to dictate the terms of what constitutes a rebuild?!!

According to @Ants we aren’t rebuilding cause we recruited Fiorini, bit Norf are rebuilding even though they recruited Darling, Parker and Daniels

Easy Wal, the gutless thing would have been to dodge the interview. The only ones Kyle really unloads on a little is the coaches from about 5.15

‘Need a hard look at ourselves’ Langford critical after Essendon demolition

Tend to agree.

Kinda got the vibes that he might have been a bit nervous/is a bit of a dill and says things that don’t quite come out right or are just words for the sake of words.

Most of us have done this before. I have. And I say all that as someone that could take or leave him

The issue isn’t Langfords words or his interview… its more that they never learn from these “internal look at ourselves” chats as leaders
