Itâs upsetting that I listened to Kane and was so bitterly disappointed with the effort that the boys displayed that it would serve us right to lose that game and started to agree with him.
Yes, Sheedy came up with the idea and made it huge, but the club, administration and players themselves are just so much different now. I hardly recognise the club now.
Itâs an absolute privilege to play that game and the boys shat the bed. Very disappointing.
This one was such a letdown. Yes a young team can be overawed but surely a few can thrive on the big stage too.
The crowd was great. Whatever you think of scarf waving, the enthusiasm of our fans at the start was huge. We made the Piesâ âbarrackersâ look like a bunch of Age letter writers.
We were in it for a half, at least on the scoreboard. Collingwood managed to steamroll us so comprehensively in the second half we lost by more than in 2016. Thatâs right, 10 years on from the saga, when we had a second hand team of granddads and auskickers, worse result. Again I heard Pies fans around me audibly hoping we would get a sympathy goal.
I am glad we play youth, I know there will be pain, but what is worse- flattening the faint hope from the three previous rounds or the nihilism of 17 defeats in a row? There has to be more to EFC than this.

What about langford running past the footy to go off the interchange bench.
Langford and fellow Bomber Matt Guelfi epitomised their teamâs disastrous start to their clash against the Saints at Marvel Stadium, running past a live footy near the sidelines to take their rotation off the ground. It allowed St Kilda to pick up the ball uncontested and move forward.
In the Fox Footy commentary box at the time, Melbourne great Garry Lyon dubbed it âappalling footballâ.
Yeah the crowd( which was 60-65% bomber fans) were just begging for the boys to fire up. Everytime we goaled there was a massive roar, all of us so badly wanted it- pity the players didnât feel the same way

this game plan bug has been deeply encoded into the culture of the club. Weâve been watching the same thing happen for about 15 years. Hird was obsessed with spare at the contest.

My Accountant stopped being a footy Manager as he said it was not an ethical job. Thatâs coming from an Italian Accountant who in his time managed the Rocca brothers and James Hird amongst others.
