To think what that 2016 team did. Three wins - very well could have been five, with a couple of other gallant performances. And with that side there was often just one quarter where it was blown open. This game was a write off from the 15min mark.

The fact that some of these guys are on 800k per year - equivalent to about 10+ years work for average people - is sickening with the effort they put in today

If he is at a loss for answers, he should be the first shot out of the cannon. FFS. It’s not like this has crept up on him. Unless he was snoring his head off throughout the JLT series like the team was, he should have seen what was happening.

Coniglio, Whitfield and Taranto were great today. They’re a good side. It won’t be surprising if things turn around next week, but it’ll take a long time to dismiss the doubts that emerge from a performance like today-even if we make the 8 you would still doubt our character. Looking at Hawthorn starting on Saturday and how they also beat us late last year you can see the jump we have to make in having mature leadership at the club. I think sadly we are years away from having that level of character and leadership. Woe is us, time to find another hobby.

If there is a positive out of today, the pressure is already high after just 1 round. They will be savaged in the media and I for one welcome it. Articles are already scathing and the Monday experts will have a field day tomorrow.
Unlike last year which took a number of rounds before the heat intensified.

Well that sucks, we are on the bottom, Norf managed to get enough points to avoid the worst spot.
My thoughts exactly. I was ‘bullish’ after believing JD would be ready for R1, and all players were available for selection, including Gleeson. Then saw that Carlton effort in the JLT, and then Geelong flattered us (should’ve lost that by 8-10 goals) - so I was worried. Expected to lose today by 3-4 goals, but not witness anything like what we did. I had us 6th pre JLT, 7th post-JLT optimistically, but said to FkCarlton friends at the G on Thursday after a re-think we’d miss the eight. Gonna stick by that. It will be same mediocrity of 10th-11th.

Particularly Lewis. Losses like being around effort based. Putting the blame on the players. Make them accountable.
Ideally, I’d like to see a few of our older players dropped as an example such as Belly and Zacka and bring in Draper and Parish. But it’ll end up being one of our younger guys I think.

He is not really at a loss for answers, he never gives anything away to the press.
He’ll know what’s going on. He has chosen to live it with in the hope/expectation that somehow, when the real thing starts, the players will put this “thing” to one side and click despite our deplorable JLT form.
Well it didn’t, and if he waits 8 rounds again before this “thing” is addressed then more than he has to go.
It’s time the club had a real review, not a Ziggy review. For too long supporters have put up with a team that is not up to it. It is nearly twenty years since we have looked competitive. There is a problem with the culture and it’s time it was addressed.

He’s right, the coverage showed a behind the goal footage of a gps kick in, and our guys were just walking to their spots, I ■■■■■■■ lost it. My wife had to send the kids out of the room

We must have a different Worsfold than the one who played for West Coast Eagles because the one who is coaching the Essendon Football club is weak as ■■■■. This is a giant joke. How does a bunch of coaches turn one of the most talented lists into a bunch of clueless clowns.
