The only goal Hill kicked was the miracle goal from the boundary. McGrath beat him soundly.
We did ok for a half I guess. Some brain farts really cost us momentum, especially that ball that Hill chopped off.

Well apart from a burst of about half of the second quarter, and a brief flurry at the beginning of the third, we were comprehensively outplayed by a team that is well coached, has good skills, applies pressure, and has a system. All the qualities that we lack, in other words.
Nothing today or indeed in any game this year has altered my opinion that we are badly coached and going nowhere.

Mate this 100000%. Went in too tall and tried to play dry weather footy all friggin day, hand-balling backwards, mucking up the switch even though it was rarely ever on.
Dumb team selection, followed by dumb decision making all day. Smashed in clearances, tackles & i50s and that’s the game.

Curiously a quick look in the votes has McGrath and Ridley…one of which I will put in. Not sure what else McGrath could have done, beat Hill until he got a couple over the top/out of his bum, intercepted and took the game on continually. People are putting it on Goldy and wanting him dropped; has Simon Madden turned up at training? Last time I looked both our ruckmen are injured and the other one is about 2 years away from being ready, I really struggle with the fact that so many people on here don’t seem to know that there’s another team out there…and they are currently the best

Forward line doesnt know what to do. We have talls who rove and smalls who go for the pack mark.
When will EFC get a superstar the media fawn over?

Well … surprise surprise … Gee Golly Gosh Seargent Carter,
It not like we lost both our best Rucks to LtIs had one of our best midfielders still out …
Playing against an older more experienced team that has been playing together … like forever …
And after those spurts you mentioned … we gained the lead, they didn’t just simply steam roll us, we gave them an absolute scare.
It was game on … until somewhat predictably it wasn’t.
But please don’t kid yourself … it’s not like we fell flat on our faces and lost a game we were expected to,win and we a left scratching our heads.

So are we 41 points worse than last year, 20 points worse and the Pies 21 points better or are the Pies 41 points better than 2024?
It’s a bit disappointing a couple of Caddy misses and it blew out. Not a bad performance for who we are and where we’re at.
