Good insight, it certainly felt like we got beaten in clearances overall so I was surprised to see the 16-15 on the stats sheet… Misleading because the clearances were clearly ineffective.
It’s the one part of the game that I’m nervous about against Geelong. They will punish us through the midfield if we can’t turn that around this weekend… And we arguably had our best midfield group going through there, maybe sans parish.
I don’t get how anyone says we are worse with Parish in the side. Have they seen our clearance numbers lately?
Yep Parish in strengthens us. and it filters down to our bottom 22-23rd player.
Not sure what Cornes is smoking, maybe he is dirty that Parish didn’t leave after writing all those articles saying he would go and explore free agency last year.
What’s even funnier is that I caught his post match on the radio and he was scathing about us saying that style of end to end football won’t hold up in September

Great question, hence why I’m just nervous. It’ll be whomever is their least experienced player who will have some kind of breakout game against us.
Would love to be proved wrong but their team in general have been bigger bodied across the ground for years and have just bullied us for over a decade.
I am also expecting danger to get off. If he doesn’t tonight I’ll rest a little easier.

If we do get ascendency in the midfield then Shiel in and running forward might help us get a big score. and increase his value for the end of the year.
The only reason West Coke was in the game after 1/4 time was because of the umps. I counted 4 goals that they were responsible for.
And can I give a big should out to the only person blinder than the umps being Dwayne I’ll barrick for anyone but Essendon Russel. He is a deadset halfwit.
