This time last year, Dale couldn’t get a game because Bevo wanted more from him. Tonight, he got near enough to 50 possessions. They’re the kind of standards we refuse to impose. We’re happy to eke out small wins against bottom sides but jog along when faced with fully committed teams like the Bulldogs.
It doesn’t matter who we recruit or trade for if we don’t demand more from the playing group. It has to be unconditional and uncompromising. As long as we refuse to punish unsatisfactory performance and continue selecting undeserving players, we won’t improve because that lax attitude is like a cancer.
It’s pretty simple. If you want to play ruthless football, you have to teach it, and the only way to do that is to act ruthlessly. As a club, we’re much too accepting that it will improve one day - well, it won’t unless you make it so. It’s about time we made a statement.

How can we let Dale do what he did? They just waltzed it through our forward half with ease all game.
Can’t keep carrying Langford, Perkins and Hobbs when we are trying to play 3 teenages in the forward line. We need speed and pressure and those 3 offer none of that.
Let’s take time to reflect that the moron on our screen right now, our coach, was one of the blokes who scragged, punched and mollified the influence of James Hird in the 2001 GF.

I said during the game around half way through the second quarter why doesn’t Brad change it around a bit, put Reid or McKay up forward. Change it up a bit. Do something, don’t think, do. Even my 11 year old son said why don’t they move some players around. No we will just keep playing the losing way like we always do. I can accept the loss but not trying something different is another loss as well. Perfect time to give something else a go. Man up on Bailey Dale for fark sake. Cant believe they played him as sub last time we played them.

Fair enough, but the club is on a membership drive to get $$$ in and if we drop too many senior players we will lose many games with that scoreline. The rebuild will take longer, but we will get some top 5 picks in the process.
The club needs to decide mid table for 10+ seasons like Richmond or bottom 4 for 10 seasons like Norf.
We are acting tactically when a long term strategy is needed.
We are bottom 4 material this season, so what the hell lets play all the kids and cop some thrashings like 2016, its good to cultivate some humility.
